December 20, 200916 yr Can't help you out there. If it slows down your machine, it certainly would on my 6 year old one. Wouldn't even try it, although none of the REX textures up to this point have caused a slow down.Give the water effects a try and let us know, it may be just my machine. Have you tried the 'Tropics' sky. I'm really curious to find those that are willing to fly around with it and tell me what they think. Most of the REX sky textures are weird to me but this one hit it out the ball park. All sky features are best used with ASA and/or Activesky 6.5. It's a tad bluer than the one I was using, Exact. It's a drag that when changing one thing, it processes all of the textures again, unless I am doing something wrong. Have you tried the water without using a resource hog like ASA?

If you are simply testing skies, you should only have a check box selected next to the proper sky set (day, dawn or dusk). December 20, 200916 yr Commercial Member No problem Fred. Also, the user manual available from the Help button in the REX GUI explains in detail all the features inherent within REX.Cheers and Happy Holiday's. I just skimmed it.

January 2, 201016 yr I flew home yesterday fom Hurghada to Sweden. Almost all the way there was "foggy cloud" at flight level 340. Then, after a while we increased FL to FL380 and we had those clouds below.Flying ove Sahara desert there was a fog at high altitude but you could see land below. My question...Can REX generate high altitude clouds/fogs? Many of REX's sky textures create a haze effect at high altitude (33,000ft+) plus that's just what your looking for. I actually now like allot of REX's sky textures with this one exception. At many times over areas you don't have what I would call a haze at higher altitude but rather a much less interupted view all the way out to the horizon. REX's 'Dreamy' (I believe that was the one) does a good job in showing the horizon darkened but not white hazy like other options do. My favorite REX sky texture is 'Tropics' but I had to retire it because the white haze was too much for me. I settled on an almost exact sky color texture from a different package called 'Real Sky Pro Edition'. The sky texture that works best for me with the rest of REX's options is the day options file called 'Nice Blue Sky Day'. For your flight over the Sahara I'd go for the 'Tropic' sky in the REX package. January 3, 201016 yr Thanx,The Haze effect, is it generated randomly and is it theme-dependant or is it generated from world weather data provided by the weathe engine and metar reports?Thank you Sir! :)It's part of the sky texture and is always there at high altitude weather you want it or not. That's why I use a sky texture that's more subtle in that area so if the real world weather isn't calling for that kind of haze I don't see it versus having no choice in the matter. Again if your not a high flier then it doesn't matter, 'Tropics' in REX is a great sky texture.
