Updates in version 3.1 1. Fixed a problem with the Main Attitude Gyro that would cause it to occasionally freeze. 2. Fixed the power to the Main Attitude Gyro that correctly controls it from the Avionics Master Switch rather than the Battery Switch. 3. Fixed a problem that would inhibit engine start if using the Avidyne EX500 and the Carenado GNS530. 4. Updated the autopilot* * Note: There are still issues with the autopilot. I am resolving those issues while developing a mod for the Carenado Cheyenne III. This update has some interim corrections but is not the final product. The final version will be provided along with the Cheye…

I started out to correct the engine starting problem caused by P3Dv4.4. The Cheyenne mod was one of my first and didn't include some of the system corrections found in my later mods. So, I decided to upgrade it a little. I am just finishing up version 3.0 and here are some things I did: 1. Updated engine parameters to work with P3D v4.4. 2. Completely rebuilt the KFC 300 autopilot to operate in accordance with its pilot guide (included). 3. Corrected engine deicing to comply with the Cheyenne II POH (included). 4. Corrected surface deicing to comply with the POH. 5. Corrected the secondary low pitch stop test to comply with the POH. 6. Cor…

P3Dv4.5hf crashes when the Cheyenne II with Bill's mod v3.1 is loaded and selected for a flight. Rarely does the scenario even load--when the Cheyenne is selected and you proceed with loading the scenario, P3D crashes. The stock Cheyenne II, unmodded, loads up and P3D runs normally, but I would prefer to continue flying with Bill's mod, as I did with P3Dv4.4, which didn't have this crash problem. Any comments or ideas? It seems the fault is with the mod, but I have no idea where to look. Thanks for any help, guys. Stew

https://imgur.com/a/kZHcIZr Hi All, I've had some trouble installing the recently purchased Cheyenne II, It's the first time I've had this issue as I have just about all Carenado and alabeo have produced. I am running Windows10 with latest service pack. I am Running P3dv4.5 without Hotfix 2. I ran installer as administrator. I've tried turning a lot of the windows security settings down or off, although after the service pack there seem to be a few settings I'm not totally familiar with yet. just wondering if any of the regular gurus might have any insight to this issue or suggestions as to how I may be able to resolve…

Hello all, I have the recently released X-Plane version of this plane and absolutely love it, but I would really like to get the P3D version as that is quickly becoming my main sim. Does anyone have both version and how does the P3D version compare as I know its a few years old now? Thanks! David

There aren't any. Spent a few hours, off and on, yesterday trying to figure out why there is no sound for the fuel pumps when I turn them on. Just goes to show I don't understand how those blankety-blank sound files work and how they're called from the main program. Even the default P3D sound file, "fuel_pump", isn't called up on queue, much less the "jetfuelpump" sound file, which sounds great, even when a slight adjustment to the sound.cfg in Bill's sound.1 folder is made. Anybody know what I can try, or is it a fool's errand? Thanks, Stew

The developer coded an engine failure if maximum torque is exceeded for some period of time (it appears to be 2 minutes for the left engine or 3 minutes for the right engine). If you reduce torque below the limit it restarts the clock. In other words, it's not cumulative. And all of that is fine. But....the number they used as maximum torque is 1484 ft-lbs which is not the torque limit of the gearboxes. The RW performance charts include power settings up to 1628 ft-lbs and include a note stating the gearbox limit is 1628 ft-lbs. The 1484 ft-lb limit is only associated with Vmc testing at 2200 propeller RPM. It is not a mechanical limit. If you want to roll th…

I'm curious why there are two "on" positions for the fuel pump switches in the Cheyenne II, one "1" and the other "2"? When does one use "1" and when "2"? Both positions work, obviously... Stew

Hello, I purchased the PA 31T and use it in P3D v4 The only problem I encounter with it is to try to keep the RW centerline during TO. Using the rudder pedals, I generally cannot control correctly the central axis and go outside the RW before take off Is it a way to get a better stabilization using FSUIPC 5? Thanks for your help Sammy

Is there any way to use the DA checklist for their Cheyenne II in sim, with P3Dv4.x? I've tried transferring DA's HTML checklist into our Carenado Cheyenne II LITE folder, but it fails to load up when I use shft-F10>checklist. I fear there is a format or some such problem with the DA file and P3D refuses to read it. Any ideas would be appreciated. In the meantime, I've printed up a hard copy. Thanks, Stew

Hi Folks, Sounds promising - we have any more true show stoppers here ? Granted - we’re never going to see an externally modeled turboprop simulation from Carenado... Regards, Scott

Hi all- Just bought the PA31 and installed Bill's mods. However, after doing so, the aircraft does not show up in the selection menu (P3D43/Win10). It seems that something gets altered where the aircraft is no longer seen (or read) by P3D. Anyone run into this? Thanks! Mark

I have recently purchased Carenado Cheyenne 2 for Prepar3D. Anytime I try to use this plane, I am victim of engine failure 2 and 3 minutes after take-off. I have read in a previous post that this is due to over-torque engine failure. I have tried several scenarios such as reducing torque under 1480 shortly after take off without any effect??? Can anyone explain to me the proper way for take-off. Is it possible to deactivate this programmed engine failure? Moreover, I have many difficulties to maintain the runway heading during takeoff. The plane is going right and left with difficulties maintaining axes with the rudders?

Hi all, I had anticipated to wait for the Carenado sale (if any) before buying the Cheyenne II, but I gave in Today my first flight, incl the mods of whamil77/Bill, and I'm very pleased. I really like the aircraft and specifically the panel. Now my question: Does anyone use the sounds of Aerozone? How are they? http://secure.simmarket.com/arezone-piper-pa31t-cheyenne-ii-hq-soundset-fsx-p3d.phtml Egbert

Just downloaded V1.2. There now is a choice of models - original and LITE.. The size of the interior model file for the LITE version is half of the original.. looks just fine to me, so that is going to be my choice. Two of my pet peeves have been addressed: - the altitude preselector in the VC is now fully functional (!) - a visual "gap" in the left corner of the cockpit panel has been eliminated. Smaller issues are still unchanged.. the trim wheel animation looks like the wheel is going backwards, and the autopilot clickspots still disappear when one of the overhead light sliders is activated. These I can live with, if necessary.. …

I have yet to take off. Unable to stay on runway on take off. Have calibrated rudders. all other aircraft I have function well. As soon as i start accelerating and get up to less than V1 it gets impossible to track the runway centerline. trying to reducing props levers to about 50%, still becomes to squirrely to fly Using Saitek rudder pedals.

Hi, can someone confirm that v4.1 has broken the NavMode Annunciator in GPS Mode? I'm using the GTN 750 and after reinstalling version 2.04 and deleting the file C:\ProgramData\Flight One Software\F1GPSGeneral.dat as proposed in the GTN-Forum the Cheyenne follows the magenta line as expected. But the Modes "Nav arm" and "Nav cpld" are not shown whereas they work when setting the OBS to NAV. Ihave not tried an LPV approach yet.

I've got everything set up for proper pressurization (dial set to alt+1000 feet, lever cabin air set to pressure, rate of change switch set to ascend), but at just above FL250, the cabin pressure warning light illuminated. I'm assuming Carenado jacked this bird up like all the others with incorrect pressurization settings?

Hey guys, I just recently created a checklist for the Cheyenne in the GTN 750. It's only normal procedures, taken directly from the supplied Carenado checklists. Here is the Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxsxRAlU_6mNMEh6Qkhxa2J1eEk/view?usp=sharing The chklist.ace file will go in your main Carenado PA31T_Cheyenne_II aircraft folder. I hope there aren't any spelling errors and such, feel free to use and edit at your will. Enjoy!
