PA34 Senaca V HD Series for FSX | P3D

  1. Started by Airbus,

I really love the Seneca panel! Only problem for me is I don't own the XPGNS 430 so I can't take advantage of a nice upgrade! However I own the XPGNS 530 which might work within the panel (better) and/or a popup gauge. In fact I saw a photo in the review of the Seneca by AVSIM showing the GNS 530 in the Seneca. A long time ago I had some guidance installing this gauge in my newly purchased Piper Cheyenne. Does anyone know if and how it could be done? I realize I may have to make some sacrifices, but I am willing to give it a shot even if its just a popup gauge. Thanks for any help and advice! Airbus

  2. If you have the Reality XP 430 in the Seneca already, an extra trick that was discovered is to make the lower GNS a Reality XP 430 equivalent also, using the same gauge that is already in the plane. If you’re up for some somewhat simple editing of a text file, you’ll be crossfilling in no time! Step 1 is to copy and paste the “panel” folder in the Seneca’s root FSX simobjects folder, making the new folder named, “panel.xp”. Next, open up your Reality XP GNS WAAS Config X program and open up the newly named panel folder for the Seneca, “panel.xp,” and if you have the unlimited pack from Reality XP, select two Reality XP 430’s to place in the cockpit (with crossfill enabled…

I don't know if it's just me (because I did run the Reality XP GNS WAAS Config X program for the PA 34, in order to get a new resizable popup window installed into the aircraft), but the on-screen display of the 430 in the virtual cockpit itself seems to be a little cut off on the bottom, for instance, I can hardly see the GPS/VLOC entry, and the windows tabs below are also cut off. Is there a way to resize this window in a config file so that the whole screen fits on the Reality XP 430 display on the panel in the virtual cockpit?

Hello, I built a PA34 cockpit like (or close to), and I plan to use it with the VC displayed on 3 monitors just for the ambiance or immersion. I do not see the VC instruments as I already got them (2D gauges) on separate touchscreens. My question is: is VC performance affected (then should FSX perf. as well) if I remove the VC loaded gauges like G600 (x2), GPS, in a word, all the gauges that could slow down the FPS ? Thank you in advance, have a great day all Emmanuel

I lose click spots on the Carenado gps430 I had an OM error and the sim crashed on my first flight. seems to be a resource hog.. I think I might want my money back on this one.. what a waste. are there any fixes for such things? I just bought it yesterday, so I'm assuming I have the included sp2 in it already. I usually don't have a problem with any of Carenado's airplanes.

  8. Hello dear fellow simmers, I have a request, I am flying mainly in europe. Included in the SenecaV package are lots of N-regs, which I am happy with to use, but I just LOVE these two southamerican liveries, the PT- / PR- .... Now my question, I am normally capeable to do re-registrations into european regnumbers by myself, but from the TBM850 on Carenado made these textures very tricky to edit, as the regs are nearly allways cut-between, the SenecaV is no exception. Maybe anyone more skyillfull than me can look at these two brilliant liveries if he might do two fictional N-regs or even two european regs out of them?! That would be realy great! Thanks for any he…

Just finally picked this one up. After a couple of short flights it seems like a really satisfying simulation. Really enjoy my Carenado Hangar!! Just wondering if there was ever a solution for disabling the Airspace Alerts on the MFD and a means of defaulting the start up to HDG Up mode... ...or, is it just the same drill as the PA46T? Thanks,

In case you are finding the clickspots too small and hard to locate, I've changed them in the 4.5 version of my Seneca mods. Contact me if you would like a copy.

Hello, I'd like to know if it's possible to add to the Seneca V a particular gauge (EDM 760 from the Carenado Skymaster) ? I need to tell that I don't want to add in the VC but only to have that gauge in a separate window as it'll be displayed on a 'panel' monitor for a home-cockpit. I asked Carenado but they kindly informed me they do not give infos on how to modify their aircrafts, and then ask this forum. If the answer is no (3d gauge as I suspect in the C337), is there on the market a 2d gauge of that EDM 760 I could add to the Seneca ? Thanks in advance Have a great day all Emmanuel

For the first time since I've owned the Seneca V I've taken it up to 14,000 feet on my way to Reno for the 51st running of the Reno Air Races

I cant see my propblades turning when I look out of the VC. You should see some movement and evenmore when you pull back on the RPM. The wierd thing is that I havent read any other reports about this.

Miscellaneous fixes for the G600 and STEC autopilot, especially useful if you are using one or two RXP GNS430s. Recent adds: Fixed GPS bearing pointer, Allow course adjustment when OBS button is pushed on GNS430. Previously: Changed STEC startup logic, Changed AP annunciator readouts, Added magenta LPV glidepath indicator, Disabled Alert messages, G600 brightness individually adjustable for VC and popup, minor visual fixes. Contact me via PM (with your email address) if you would like a copy.

  16. Started by Bert Pieke,

    If you prefer to have your G600 follow the RXP GNS430 CDI settings (GPS/VLOC), rather than setting it manually, the following code, included in an Update section of an active gauge will do the job.. <!-- Force G600 CDI to follow GNS430 CDI. (L:G500_CDISource) 1=VLOC 0=GPS --> (A:GPS DRIVES NAV1,bool) (L:G500_CDISource,bool)! == if{(L:G500_CDISource,bool)! (>L:G500_CDISource,bool) }

  17. Started by Bert Pieke,

The audio panel is now operative, and the ITT redline is now announced at 1650.. Also, the G600 shows the GNS LPV glidepath (with an RXP GNS).. Other things, like the autopilot initializing between FD and AP modes have not been addressed. If you are using my G600 and STEC mods, I'd suggest to keep using them since Carenado picked up only some of the fixes that I applied..

  18. Started by Bert Pieke,

I personally do not like the start-up logic where the autopilot initializes when switched between the FD and AP setting. According to the STEC Pilot's Guide, it should do this at startup (=FD setting). If you would like an updated autopilot, send me a PM with your email address.

The panel is way too dark - and, don't see a flood light switch, or even panel light switch.

I am curious to see if anyone tried replacing the G600 system or the GNS 430's with the flight1 GTN 650/750 Can it be done? Is it a silly idea to begin with? Can it improve or add funtionality to the seneca

So in real life, the Seneca V has 4x 32 gallon fuel tanks. Two in each wing which are interconnected with one filler cap on each wing. This is giving me a problem with fuel loadout when I fly FSEconomy as it tries to put 32 gallons in 4 tanks, but only sees two of them, so I'm getting 50% fuel. Can anyone advise how to fix this? I've edited the .cfg and added the Left and Righ Aux tanks using the datum point (slightly farther out on the wing) but the fuel gauge still only reads 50% fuel and I'm unsure if its even "getting" the two aux tanks I've added. I'd really like this patched. 4 tanks is 4 tanks.

Hi, I am not able to figure out, how and on which of the avionics, I get the usual distance reading to a tuned DME. If tuning a VOR/DME, the tracking of the VOR works fine, but I am missing the distance reading to the DME. Are am I to stupid to find necessary settings, or did Carenado forget to implement it. Thank you Bruno

  24. I am using the PA34 Seneca V Garmin 430. I have locked onto the ILS frequency and the plane is on the glide slope and lands fine. However despite switching the “Ident Toggle Switch” on I get NO audio tones sound of from the localiser, not do I see anywhere that the identification of the localiser is displayed. All I get is “ID” appear on the Garmin 430 display when I click the “Ident Toggle Switch” I have searched your knowledge base and the web, am I making a mistake or is the audio tone missing and the identifying information display? Thanks

  25. Started by Bert Pieke,

This is a trick that we figured out for the JetProp, but works equally well for the Seneca. If you use a joystick button to engage or disengage the autopilot, you can make the panel switch follow suit.. Create a little XML gauge and call it in the Virtual cockpit somewhere.. Gauge code: <Gauge Name="Control_init" Version="1.0"> <!-- FDAP Switch --> <Element> <Select> <Value> (A:AUTOPILOT MASTER,BOOL) if{ (L:SWITCH_APFD_MALIBU,number) 1 == if{ 2 (>L:SWITCH_APFD_MALIBU,number) } (L:SWITCH_APFD_MALIBU,number) 0 == if{ 1 (>K:AP_MASTER) } } els…
