  1. Thank you, I will try that. It did do a configuration thing when I started up FSX after installing the scenery. Is there something else to do to effectively activate the scenery?
  2. Hello All, Recently, I installed Playsims Publishing's 'Ultimate Canary Islands Airports' (Gold Edition) scenery add-on for FSX. After the installation had completed, I loaded a flight at GCTS and there was no sign of the add-on scenery, just the standard default FSX scenery. Any help as to why this has happened would be most appreciated. Many thanks, TiggCJ
  3. Thanks all for your help. To answer your questions: It mostly happens when operating the A319/A320 aircraft and often at London Southend Airport (SEN/EGMC). However this could be to do with that I use that airport and planes most often. However, it has happened on other aircraft and airports too. Those aircraft I've downloaded from Simviation.com. Could that have something to do with it? I can admit to perhaps leaving the autopilot on too long and having to rush the flare sometimes. As I said, this doesn't happen always but is becoming more common on more aircraft and airports and happens even if things/conditions are correct.
  4. Dear Reader, Sometimes when I land an aroplane in FSX (hasn't happen for helicopters yet) on some runways the aircraft sinks into the ground on touchdown after the flare, thus registering it as a crash. This happens even if all the landing preparations are completed and correct (speed, approach, flare, gear down & locked, flaps etc.). This happens mostly on manual landings, as this is how I make most of them, but has occurd on some autopiloted landings too and is increasing in occurance. Even if the landing is hard, surely the suspension in the gear should counter this and the aircraft not sink into the ground? Can anyone help/explain as to why this is happening (could it be a virus, computer fault) and how to correct it? Many thanks. TiggCJ
  5. Hello, Can anyone tell me where to get a checklist for the Hawker Sidley Trident, BAC 1-11 and Boeing 727-200 from? I've tried different websites and searches but haven't found anything yet. All help appreciated! Cheers. TiggCJ
  6. Hello everybody, I am considering getting a joystick for FSX. There are two possibilities. The 'Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Joystick' or the 'Speedlink Black Widow Flightstick'. I know this isn't a comparison website, but what are your opinions on the above two? Many thanks, TiggCJ
  7. Hi all, Thanks for the replies! Sorry for such a late reply, I actually managed to forget that I posted this thread! I see what Dave means about the weather settings, so for example setting it to winter on the season dial and put in a time of 5am, that might get snow... Where about in the forum might there be something about the pallet editor? Thanks again and stay safe, TiggCJ
  8. Dear all, Hence the title, it's been quite cold and I was wondering if you can get snow on Flight Unlimited 1, 2 or 3? I have FSX Deluxe too and it has all weather conditions but I must say that it, to me, isn't as aeronautically realistic as FU3. Graphics, I would say FSX is more realistic (no offence) but in real life, when you board as a pilot you would normally find the engines cut and the cockpit dead wouldn't you. Maybe having the engines started etc. is designed to make life easier.... Anyway, I'd be glad to hear your thoughts! Kind regards and safe flying, TiggCJ
  9. Forgot to mention, I was in the Beechjet.
  10. Hello all, I was recently on FU3 and performed an IFR flight from Olympia (OLM) - Boeing Field (BFI). When I tuned the transponder for BFI, I had forgotton the ILS frequency to put into NAV1 (I remeber it now, 110.90) and accidently put in the Paine Field (PAE) VOR, 110.60. It is to my knowledge that VOR frequencies belong in NAV2, however this time I had put PAE's VOR into NAV1. Before now the VOR arrow on the DME and HSI gauge don't usually come alive when I put a VOR frequency into NAV1, but this time it did. BTW, I did click the NAV button on the Auto Pilot during the flight and it seemed to be tracking me towards Paine Field, although NAV2 was now tuned to SEA VOR. This is either a fluke or I just haven't noticed it before! Can anyone help? Kind regards, TiggCJ
  11. Hi All, What does the green instrument do on the left of the HSI in the Beechjet? Cheers, TiggCJ
  12. Hi Dave, Thanks for that, I'll have a go. Cheers, TiggCJ
  13. Hi, I've remembered, when I first installed FUIII on my PC, I selected only four pilot voices and a smaller landscape. I now realize I can get a bigger landscape/more pilot voices etc... Without uninstalling and then re-installing, is there any other way I could get these? Thanks, TiggCJ
  14. Hi Dave, Sorry for late reply, hectic busy! I know all the pages have probably changed now since it's after the 3rd May, but I think the McChord VOR was on the bottom of that page. Hope this helps... TiggCJ
