WinCTRL SimAppPro setup?

Featured Replies

After entering all the appropriate paths for MSFS 2024, P3D, XP12, I was presented with this Key Bindings dialog.  Checked the SimAppPro manual and they list two sections for Key Bindings for P3D and XPlane ... both are just empty ... and there is no section in the manual for MSFS 2024.  The manual seems to be focused almost entirely on DCS.

Does anyone have any tips, video tutorial links or anything that might cover setup for WinCTRL with MSFS 2024 and PMDG 737?

I have only the Boeing 737 FMC and never had to do anything with keybindings. I installed SimAppPro, plugged the FMC into USB, started the sim (2020/2024) and loaded PMDG 737-XXX and it worked. That was a big part of the beauty of owning the WinCTRL FMC - there is no setup other than installing SimAppPro - or there weren't additional settings that I had to make, other than periodic firmware updates as additional aircraft support is added.

I would just click apply on that screen and fire everything up and see how it works.

I have mobiflight WASM installed in my community folder.  As other’s have mentioned it seems the SimAppPro is really just for firmware updates (which I have downloaded).

Did a little more reading on MobiFlight and it’s used with Arduino Mega 2560 boards (which I do know well and have several) … very cool!

Thanks for the information.

EDIT: Official Arduino boards are expensive in the US but knock-off boards in Asia are 3X cheaper so I’m beginning to see how these WinCTRL devices are cheap.  I love Arduino boards, amazingly flexible and programmable … I used one to build my “Silent Chiller” (vapor chiller) a few years ago and it managed all fan control, pumps control, temp/dew point monitoring etc.  VERY handy.

Unfortunately plug in and load PMDG 737-900 didn’t work … got nothing on the WinCTRL display.  Device shows up in the SimAppPro.  The firmware shows as 1.03 … a 1.04 is available so I’ll try that firmware update.

Are there any other tricks or things I need to check to get it to work with PMDG 737-900ER in MSFS 2024?

Issue Resolved, working great.

Performed firmware update to 1.04 ... didn't make a difference.  So did Environment Check and the SimLogic Operation Status was red with X.  Clicked the start button next to it and waited a few seconds and the Device went Online.  Not sure if this is something I need to do everytime, but it's work very well now.
