Paris VFR Landmarks

Featured Replies

MSFS 2024 - Is it worth buying one of the Paris VFR Landmarks packages (ORBx or PrealSoft), or has the France World Update added enough 3D landmark models to make these two obsolete? I note that the ORBx product apparently deals with those "blurred out" areas around Paris (and that is extremely important to me), but a quick check near the handcrafted LFPB Le Bourget airport suggested that at least some of these have already been sorted out.

Please note that I do not use PG.

I own the Orbx and the models are good, but the colors are too saturated and do not blend well with the Photogrammetry. There are quite a few landmarks in the package so it’s better than just using the default landmarks.

BTW, the Paris PG is some of the worst in the sim and really needs to be on Microsoft’s list for a future City Update. So I use the add-on pack by Orbx as it looks better than the PG even with the bright colors.

I saw that you don’t use PG, but posted the info in case others do.

I find ORBX Paris to be very good and it has been recently updated too.  As Gulf says the landmarks are a little to clean and bright but that can be said of most if not all landmark sceneries.  Paris looks a lot better with it than without it.

I also agree that the Paris photogrammetry probably needs re-doing as it certainly is not the best.  Maybe in world update 65?
