Impressed with the quantity of DLC for MSFS 2024.

Featured Replies

I’m very impressed with the sheer volume of DLC available for MSFS 2024.  It seems 3rd party content providers are popping up everywhere, kudos to them all.  Everyday I’m seeing new content or updated content in my feeds.

I know this thread will go down the road of quality vs. quantity (in which I say to each his or her own), but regardless, I’ve never seen so much available for a simulator before, very impressive.  This should keep MSFS development going for a LONG time.

Self Loading Cargo is a masterfully developed app and if you like airliners it provides great ambience but for me more importantly scores each flight according to a decent set of parameters.  One issue sorely lacking in simming is indeed....consequences, so this helps me keep my head in the game....which is something I do need!

Do you get up to Thunderhill Raceway these days?

No, stopped auto racing around 2015.  If you looking for a good lap time on fresh rubber, 1:46 or better is pretty good … 10am ish, 2nd lap is usually the sweet spot for tire/temps for setting qualification laps.

I’ll have to check out Self Loading Cargo … scoring system sounds interesting … is it similar to Career mode?

I fly everything and anything in MSFS 2024 (primarily driven by available time and mood) … I have the virtual affordability of Billions of $$$ worth in aircraft 😉

No there really is no career focus instead it aims to simulate crew management and flight scoring in terms of managing crew and the flight itself.  Here's a flight report from yesterday so you can see what's scored:  My Self-Loading Cargo Flight Report

Here is the GUI which sits on my 2nd display and it's really well designed.  You can download sound packs from various airlines--this part is the biggest limitation, audio content options you can get off of their Discord but it is a WIP even though it's very effective right now.   The flight above was using Aer Lingus sound pack so capt was a Brit accent as there is no Irish and crew was actual recordings from Aer Lingus flights so is pretty sweet!
