August 31, 2025Aug 31 Hey guys, I have a question about one item in the procedures or checklist, as it were, which has to do with the mixture settings. 1. During climb, the mixture item mentions that it should be set to 78 lb/hr, so if I have to set the fuel flow indicator to: A) 78 lb/hr on both needles or close to 78 lb/hr? (There are two engines, which is why I mention both needles.) B) 39 lb/hr on each needle for a total of 78 lb/hr. C) The aircraft's GPS has a fuel data option, including digital fuel flow, and no matter how hard I try to set it to 78 lb/hr, it goes to 81 lb/hr or 69 lb/hr. So it would be set above or below, i.e., 81 lb/hr or 69 lb/hr. 2. Cruising is a bit complicated for me. The item mentions adjusting the EGT or the cruise tables, but as far as the tables are concerned, it only mentions the RPM and MP adjustments, but not how many degrees to adjust the EGT. On the other hand, I find the so-called peak when I lean the mixture, but I know how many degrees (according to the gauge, each line equals 25 degrees) I should enrich the mixture. The same thing happens with the analog fuel flow indicator; you can see the needle reaching the peak, but I don't know how to adjust it there. And the digital indicator also shows when the decimal number increases and then decreases. I understand that the peak is the optimal setting, BUT it is not the one you should fly with.
August 31, 2025Aug 31 I have a very important question... Which aircraft? Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
