SIM TIME

Featured Replies

Is is possible to have a checkbox to set just by time and day of week not include date in simulator since it will only go back 4 weeks?  This way the time and day of the week you select before fly now will be automatic.

Could you be more specific, I don't understand, your sentence is rather cryptic to me, sorry.

My understanding is that if you check Sim Time the RT will run according to the date/day/time/hour you select in the sim to start your flight.  Per manual, it will only do that for past 4 weeks.  So if you choose eg March 3, 2023 as your start date, it won't replicate the traffic on that date.  But if you select at start day of May 25, 2024 at 6a LT it will replicate the RT at that time automatically.  That is, you don't have to check Time Shift of days/hours/minutes.

If I am correct on how it works, then I can never replicate RT on a day more than 4 weeks ago.  So, instead I would like to replicate the day/hours/minutes without having to manually change them each time I load a flight.

So I am asking for a Sim Time checkbox or boxes that automatically adjusts just the day of the week/ the hour and minutes you preselected at the world map.

That's right, it is a limitation imposed by RT, it provides historic data for the last 4 weeks. In your example of March 3, 2023, it will go back in time exactly 4 weeks, no more.

So if I understand you correctly, if you load the flight of March 3, 2023, I have to find out the day of the week, compare that with the current day to caclulate a time difference? What if today is Thursday and March 3 is on a Friday? I really don't see the use of it, but maybe I still don't understand.

Don't forget times are in UTC. The place on the map has effect on the (local) day of the week calculation only, not on the time. Times in the sim are elapsed seconds since Jan 1st, 1970 (epoch times).

More info is needed....

Good point.

It was just a thought, but I now see some of the limitations.
