May 28, 20242 yr KIAH appears to be in full action. Some small improvements in ESSA (very small) and ENGM (medium). May 29, 20242 yr It would be good to get something from RT on what is happening with the data streams, the silence over many months is deafening. I have often replied to such questions that Balthasar is working on a solution, and that is still valid today. Hence patience please, enjoy the airports that are well covered, and don't forget that airborne traffic is not affected.

The drop in data quality and quantity occurred in September 2023, it's now 8 months since then with no resolution. The main point of the post is about communication. As subscribers to a service the least RT users should expect is regular updates from the data provider, especially if the service has deteriorated. RT subscribers do not get any updates, we are left in the dark. If Balthasar does not want a forum for RT (which would be a good solution), then regular email updates to his subscribers should be the minimum expected from him. With all respect to you, saying "Balthasar is working on a solution" and "enjoy the airports that are well covered" is not good enough, particularly as the message has not changed in many months. RT subscribers need to hear from Balthasar directly, please. In addition, we need to have some clear indication of when a solution will be in place so that we can make an informed decision about whether to continue to subscribe or not. I am not being confrontational here, I am merely expressing my disappointment with the RT service and Balthasar's customer relations. May 30, 20242 yr Fully agreed, Peter. I should have listened to my gut when I somewhat reluctantly decided to renew in January in the hopes that things would improve. I don't see that happening again, due to the total lack of communication.

June 1, 20242 yr @G-YMML1 @Harrier77 @mmcmah New news from Baltahasar: Quote After a long wait, finally some great news: I've been able to source traffic from two new data providers, resulting in coverage that has improved to a level we haven't seen before. This includes ground traffic at many locations such as KIAH and KMIA where previously the ground coverage was spotty at best, and also includes truly global satellite coverage! Email came through from him overnight. Looking forward to renewing with this new information. Good timing for me too, my pro licence is due to expire in 3 days. My sub renews in 6 days, so I will check out several airports in the next few days to see how much things have improved before I commit. June 1, 20242 yr Author I just checked RT radar and it seems like KIAH and KMIA are the only improvements, but they've been here for a month. Zero progress for Scandinavia, unfortunately. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
June 1, 20242 yr I pretty much abandoned PSXT when RT started having its data problems several months ago. After Baltahasar's email I decided to try a one month standard license just to check it out again. FWIW, my home airport is KBNA, and now it appears to be back to the way it was prior to the RT issues. So, a good sign for me anyway---I'll continue to test.
June 1, 20242 yr Saw the good news come in this morning, so I went ahead and got another short-term license to see if there are improvements. Keeping my fingers crossed for improved data flows back to previous levels or better. I did have a concern about the following point though and I've bit my tongue at for a while now... On 5/30/2024 at 1:04 AM, kiek said: I know, and I understand your frustration. However, you are at the wrong counter, use the email address of Balthasar please. PSXT is a great piece of software and us users are getting the best updates from all of your work and investment over the years, Nico. To your point though, while this has been framed as a "PSXT-only support forum", it's important to consider that PSXT does not function at all without taking a dependency on RealTraffic data (or a license). Sure, you could call PSXT "freeware", but it doesn't function at all unless there is a valid RT license. It's a similar argument of calling any Adobe product "freeware" - it is free to download and install, however in order to actually launch and use it, you need an active Creative Cloud subscription which is sold separately from the download. You could fix this case for PSXT by, for example, allowing for AIG/FSLTL models to inject at parking positions without an RT license and position it as a static traffic generator only.... in its current state however, the software serves no purpose without a RT dependency. Since RealTraffic doesn't have a means of a public support option (including peer-to-peer discussion), this forum on Avsim is the next best alternative. I think it would be a different story if PSXT had other functionalities that didn't take a dependency on RT, if RT had their own support channel, or if Balt offered some support directly on this forum. Balt does a great job on email comms, but the rest of us who are hesitant to reach out wouldn't be aware of what developments are happening in the RT space, or if the issues we're facing are common/widespread. I'm sure this is why a lot of us on here are voicing frustration on the lack of transparency on RT's roadmap, and how that impacts the user experience with PSXT. Just my 2-cents.
