March 4, 20242 yr I'm dreaming of warmer weather with this flight from Fall City (1WA6) to Anacortes (74S) in the C182 RG. Lovely paint by the very talented Tim-HH. GTN 750Xi by TDS - now featuring updatable Navigraph database/charts. I tried to really capture the essence of the Pacific Northwest in these pics - please leave a comment! And I hope to inspire people to fly in this area.... one of the most beautiful areas in real life (and the sim!) A backtaxi to start us out - payware from Orbx (a very reasonable price and an excellent scenic location to begin or end a flight) Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr That guy is having a rough day... but I'm going flyin! Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr We're underway and it should be a bumpy but short 70 mi flight Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-7 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Harvey Field (S43) looks like a hot air balloon ride about to start... Untitled-10 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Called up Paine tower just to skim the edge of their class delta Untitled-11 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr The magestic Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains as a backdrop Untitled-13 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr I believe that is Whitehorse Mountain and Three Fingers South Untitled-14 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Overhead Camano Island Airfield 13W (incredible freeware at the usual place) Untitled-15 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Passing Whidbey Island NAS (we picked up flight following and a squawk code through their class charlie) Untitled-16 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr And approaching 74S - Runway 18 calls for right traffic... so it's overhead midfield for a right turn into the downwind Untitled-17 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr This area features many vessels... Untitled-18 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Into the downwind and nearly onto base... the south wind is really kicking us around Untitled-19 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Leaving the shoreline coming to land I hit a large pocket of turbulence so we ended up a bit high here Untitled-21 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-22 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Some views of the airport which I highly recommend - there are no published IAPs here Untitled-23 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-24 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-25 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr The hangars are of decent quality - one has a door opened for your aircraft 🙂 Untitled-26 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-27 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 4, 20242 yr A pleasure to view from beginning to end. That 182RG really looks good in that environment.
March 4, 20242 yr Fantastic set, very good setup of the graphics, looks really good! 🙂 Nice plane and a wonderful area. Started in PNW flying in the successful Orbx region scenery based on landclass a long time ago, of course in FSX And than I collected these hd airports over the years. But they overlap influencing the performance in the area of the St. Juan islands for example. And I was struggling and struggling...🙃 this all works in 64-bit of course. March 8, 20242 yr A most beautiful and well-rounded collection of pictures out of the PNW, Ryan... We have surely come a long way from the first release of PNW by Orbx...decades ago .... Thanks for sharing...!
March 9, 20242 yr Lovely stuff Ryan. Orbx's PNW and all its various airports were my first real bunch of addons when I got into all this about ten years ago. Maybe if I'd realised back then what I'd end up spending on all this stuff . . . <grin> Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

We have a nice saying for this in Germany: it's a hobby and hobbies don't cost you anything 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
