PSXT connection issue

Featured Replies

Recently PSXT is not willing to connect with MSFS stable like before. I mean it is connecting randomly (even after recent update), so I can't find the reason why it is happening. And it doesn't matter if I'm lunching the program before Sim or when the flight is already loaded. Program restart is not solving connection issue. It is kind of disappointing, because every time I have to restart the Sim, and wait like 15 min and pray that this time I'll see yellow and green stripes instead of red. Any helpful ideas on this?

That's annoying indeed.

The connecting procedure has not changed a bit over the last few years, so it must be something at your end that is causing this.

No other reports of this problem...

Does it holds at "Waiting for MSFS...."?

Could be a Simconnect problem. Do you have more apps using Simconnect?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes, when it can't connect to the Sim, it holds at "Waiting for MSFS....", BUT the RT starts displaying traffic info in the correct location.

I'm using "MSFS2020 Map Enhancement", "FSRealistic", "Navigraph FMS Data Manager", "SimBrief Downloader" and "GSX Pro". I'm not sure, but I suspect they all are communicating via Simconnect. The fact is, that I'm using them all along with PSXT since Dec 2022 without any problems. I'm flying only in VR "Reverb G2" using "Mixed Reality Portal".

I've noticed this problem in the first days of March and did not bothered you, because I saw your message and decided to wait until you return.

Of course it could be something wrong on my side as well, that is why I'm trying to figure out what is causing this random problem with your help. Unfortunately it is affecting only PSXT, which I really love and don't wanna fly without it.

You could try to switch these programs off one by one and see if that helps.

Ok, I'll try to do so today, and will report back.

See this FAQ 34:

34. PSX_MSFS keeps telling “Waiting for MSFS”? This might be a SimConnect problem. Other apps using Simconnect might block access. Possible causes are FS2CrewCommandCenter and FSRealistic. Make sure you have the latest versions of these two programs. You can switch these programs off in the exe.xml of MSFS

I confirm. The problem caused by "FSRealistic". I could reproduce this bug 2 times out of 5 Sim restarts. When the problem was present, I was closing "FSRealistic" and "PSXT" was connecting to Sim immediately.

After "PSXT" successful connection I'm just relaunching "FSRealistic", and that's it. What is weird, is that I'm using the latest version of "FSRealistic" since December and everything was fine.

Anyway, I'd like to thank you for your help and support. Take care!

Are you trying to connect to MSFS in vanilla state? If not, try to do so. In my case "FSRealistic" was randomly blocking "PSXT" to connect to Sim.

See this:

You have not even reached the point where it tries to connect to MSFS ...

Buy a license first. I can assure you it will connect to MSFS.
