The 747 carrier aircraft is just one way to significantly reduce the amount of fuel required to reach orbit, which translates to increased payload capacity for the same size of rocket compared to a vertical launch. Obviously, this launch option is limited to relatively small rockets, as I don't expect to see an SLS under one of Cosmic Girl's wings anytime soon!! Not sure if they're doing ground launches from Cornwall. Think its only a license for horizontal launches. Sierra Space have signed an agreement with Spaceport Cornwall to launch Dreamchaser. So it wont be just Virgin. Dreamchaser is a great concept. https://www.sierraspace.com/ Don't forget the Orkneys though Chris. https://saxavord.com/ Lamba Ness in Unst, Shetland. Those guys are doing ground launches. Three launch pads plus integration hangars. All of the following will be Spaceports in the UK. January 10, 20233 yr I did not mean that they would be launching rockets vertically from Cornwall. I was referring to one (or more) of the other UK launch sites. On a side note, they should have built one in Ulverston. We already have a rocket on the pad https://lighthouseaccommodation.co.uk/directory/sir-john-barrow-monument/ Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
