Will we be able to tell the difference in 2050?

Featured Replies

With leaps in technology will we be able to tell the difference from the sim to real life in 2050? This video gives you a reminder what Flight Simulator 95 was like in 1996 followed by the present comparison of real life to MSFS2020. Thoughts?

I remember how good FS95 looked after the old wire frame sims.

That is the amazing thing at the time! You thought it was so realistic and it couldn’t get any better!

Personally, I thought that FS5/FS95/FS98/FS2000/FS2002 looked rubbish. There was a reason why I shifted to Flight Unlimited 2 and 3 between 1997 and 2008.

@Christopher Low I had forgotten about Flight UnLimited. I still have the original box from Flight Unlimited (collectors item). I remember there were only a few geographical locations to fly from? But they looked amazing!

Some of Flight Unlimited graphics were truly amazing for that time period, esp. the cockpits.  I think that was the sim where an aircraft  would sink underwater after a crash?
