March 17, 20224 yr Start with a small under volt say 0.05 and see if it is stable then try around 0.1 offset which should be safe. Then test whether it is actually helping your heat and performance in MSFS and whether it is stable under load and also no load. You can probably easily go past 0.1 offset possibly up to 0.13 or 0.15 but do it in small steps, and you may not need to anyhow. My personal experience is excessive undervolting mainly gets unstable while sitting at the desktop with nothing running but it may vary from motherboard to motherboard. Note in your particular use case (unless you do a lot of rendering) you do not necessarily need things "stable for max load all cores for an hour", on some crazy AVX benchmark, but do make sure you are a few steps back from unstable in your own "typical loads" to be safe. Reducing turbo power (or time) might help a touch, no idea, experiment and see. I believe performance core ration does set your max frequency, I would leave that alone. March 17, 20224 yr Odd topic title for what's more or less a hardware question. Anyway, to answer the question itself: no, I don't buy payware sceneries at all. In fact, I don't even use freeware airports. They all aren't worth the money or trouble. I spend too little time on airports in order to bother with addons. MSFS is great as it is when it comes to scenery and ticks all my boxes. No need to make things complicated. I just need one good GA (right now the Kodiak 100, perhaps the Milviz C130 in the near future) and one good airliner (right now the FBW A32NX, perhaps the Fenix 320 in the near future... or (I wish) a Dash 8 Q400) and that's it. O, wait, let's not forget the WT G1000. So far I only spend money on ONE plane (Kodiak) and (unfortunately) ONE useless addon (SkyPark). I love how little extra money MSFS costs. 😉

I've been blown away by the amount of freeware airports that are of top notch quality. Having been with P3D since what feels like forever, I have experience how slowly slowly the pool of quality of freeware has essentially dried up. You have to go bck to the days of FSX to see tons of freeware releases, and even then only a subset of those were really good. Now, with MSFS, the amount of really good freeware airports has been brilliant. Honestly, as somebody who started developing addon airports but got bogged down by the complication of some of the processes, I'm in awe of what so many other people have been able to do. It's not easy! Some update about the tweaking, I changed the voltage offset to -0.090v, it's not stable if I go under it and I also selected 100w for the turbo boost. What a change! I am no longer thermal throttling, I have a stable 4.7Ghz. So even after switching all my setting to high, I gained 10fps compared to medium. Thanks a lot for your help Glenn😁
March 17, 20224 yr Sure enough DD's Renton (KRNT )is another prime example of a complex addon scenery running better than default. Not sure what's making default KRNT so heavy on frames but DD's Renton addon probably has 3x the amount of 3d objects and moving parts as default and somehow runs better.
