INCORRECT AIRPORT LOCATION (WIPD) Banding Angung

Featured Replies

Hi Alex,
Making a Flight Plan in LNM in Indonesia (ID) I found myself an airport more precisely WIPD in an incorrect geographical position, in fact the coordinates of LNM are:
4 ° 48 '0.00 "S 103 ° 57' 0.00" E
while the exact coordinates of the airport are:
4 ° 47 '13.27 "S 103 ° 55' 58.80" E
as can also be seen from the OpenNav website (https://opennav.com/airport/WIPD)
My questions are:
1. Can I change this error?
2. How can I add an airport in LNM if not present? because if I add it as a user point, creating an airport then it is not possible to add it to the flight plan neither as departure nor as arrival.
thanks for your attention

Hi Mirko,

is this X-Plane? Because I can find this airport only in X-Plane and not in MSFS.

I see the stock airport at the correct location related to the OpenStreetMap overlay. Provided the latter one is correct.

I suppose this is an add-on airport.

1. You can use WED to correct the location.
2. Install an add-on or use WED to create a new airport. I think you can even load plans into the stock GPS which do not start at an airport. I fixed this recently.

Hi Alex,
No I'm using MSFS2020, but the problem is not the type of simulator, but the Navigraph maps, because if I select Use navigraph for all functions the airport appears even if in the incorrect position, while if I select Use Navigraph for navigation aids the airport does not appear.
in this case, since it is a disused airport, I think it is appropriate to add it by hand. I try to do as you wrote me.
thank you

Exact coordinates of WIPD airport are:  4° 47' 13.42" S 103° 55' 58.49" E (as it's written in XP11 NAvigraph database) what after conversion to decimal values gives coordinates:
-4.787061, 103.932914 and there are real coordinates of WIPD aerodrome what you can check on Google maps' satellite image, look here:
https://www.google.pl/maps/place/4°47'13.4"S+103°55'58.5"E/@-4.787051,103.9307253,1267m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d-4.787051!4d103.932914

Regards,
Piotr

ps. I suppose that coordinates from/at OpenNav website are not coordinates of runway's center point 🙂
