Not certain that this leak is genuine of course. Intel Core i9-11900K Gaming Performance versus Core i9-10900K Edited March 11, 20215 yr by martin-w
March 11, 20215 yr Well, the 11900k turbo's on all cores at 4.9 and the 10900k at 4.8, so it would actually be only 12% faster if they are at the same frequency. FS in DX11 seems to favour 6-8 logical cores, so that may favour the 11900k as well. We will have to wait and get more benchmarks. Simon
March 11, 20215 yr Commercial Member 10900k also has a Turbo boost on all cores of about 4.9 Ghz. HWINFO on mine, with no overclocking of any kind, shows all cores running at 4.88 Ghz when MSFS 2020 runs. Interesting enough, with MSFS, it can run at that speed with no issues but, with P3D 5, it goes in thermal throttling after a few minutes. March 12, 20215 yr 10900K in learning mode after I updated my MB and CPU the MB is used for OC tests as it only has 2 memory slots to control and HT off and limits off in the BIOS. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/50374316433/in/dateposted-public/ It will hit 5.4 in boost but have since locked it to 5.2 never goes over 64 degs no throttle Raymond Fry.

So you got on okay with the Asus AI Overclock algorithm? I have a theory that those who don't, are those that don't fully understand how it functions. Never goes over 64 in the sim you mean? I wondering how it does in something like RealBench Or R20. I know you have an AIO, but can't recall which one.

Wee have a thread on air cooling with the 10900K HT off usually drops temp by around 10 degrees. Edited March 12, 20215 yr by martin-w

Learning mode is not OC`ing with ASUS AI you run the system for a few weeks and it scores your system, the MB can be used with LN that`s why it`s used for OC records by testers, removing the limits in learning mode allows it to push the boost. March 12, 20215 yr These benchmarks always amuse me. Its not overclocking if you just pay attention to the score the "learning mode" has given you, based on the algorithm and do nothing. If you actually run the AI overclock it uses that score to set the overclocking parameters. It then monitors the system and makes adjustments as it sees fit. Learning mode is utilised by the auto overclock utility. Learning mode generates the profile mentioned below. Most Asus boards have learning mode, that generates the profile for the overclock, these days. https://www.asus.com/Microsite/motherboard/Intelligent-motherboard/AI-Overclocking.html ASUS AI Overclocking is an intelligent utility that helps you get the most out of your build by automatically profiling your CPU and cooling system to predict optimal voltage and frequency settings. March 12, 20215 yr Cool, didn't know this existed, might give it a try. And also this 10% margin between 10th and 11th gen doesn't justify an upgrade to the latest gen. I am very happy with 10th gen i9, upgraded from i7 8086k. True, but its done at 1080p so the emphasis is on CPU rather than GPU. As long as both CPU's being compared are tested the same way its valid. It's about comparing two CPU's not how good it is in the sim.
March 13, 20215 yr yes your point is valid in this case. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
March 22, 20215 yr Is it really possible for MSFS to run at 100 fps? Never have I seen that sort of frame rate reported anywhere, perhaps they used all its settings at their minimum. Rather suspicious graph IMO. March 24, 20215 yr Okay, I now understand this plot...my bad. The Y scale is percentage, not FPS!
