Microsoft Flight Simulator becomes top-selling game on Steam

Grounded has announced they surpassed the one million mark already. So FS2020 has sold already over one million copies.

Has it though? Not saying I know you are a wrong, but can't you buy Grounded from other sources? If that is so then the Steam statistic only refers to part of those total sales. And yes, I know the same could be said of the MS Sim, so it is likely it has, but it wouldn't then confirm that number.

Incidentally, anyone else think it is a pretty odd coincidence that a flying game is battling against one which has you grounded? 🤣

don’t know if you buy it outside of steam but beeing an obsidian game I don’t think so

I don't know why some flight simmers are so adamant to keep painting their hobby as niche.

FSX was not niche. MSFS is not niche and will sell millions of copies too. People still like the idea of flying to places they know, even if it's just a few weeks interest they drop quickly. By then, the money is already in Microsoft's bank account.

I guess that you missed my point that all three games are available on consoles.

And Steam is not the primary distribution means of MSFS, yet it's still #1.
