September 9, 20205 yr Thanks for getting back and your link, sort of of trying to do that ( similar to the zibo Mod ) I don't seem to be able to enter any info into the FMC, get a ' Key Not Active' also none of the Lat/Lg appear to match what shown in the FMC and Xplane cordinates. regards bob Edit.... moved to another gate at EDDF and that now allows me to enter the position. so it's now working, bit odd I know however it worked, thanks for your help. (also realized Lat/lg are in decimal) Edited September 9, 20205 yr by onebob found solution
September 9, 20205 yr Can you just line select the GPS position into the scratchpad then line select the coordinates into the set IRS pos box ? It should save the long hand typing and is less prone to error 787 captain. Previously 24 years on 747-400.Technical advisor on PMDG 747 legacy versions QOTS 1 , FS9 and Aerowinx PS1.

September 9, 20205 yr Evening, ah , I’ve not tried this mod yet so don’t know what’s what. certainly the lack of attitude information until the IRS POS has been entered even though the IRS have aligned is a nice authentic touch. 787 captain. I finally got recorded today - really quick and dirty ~30min flight to test out/show what the navigation systems are doing from take off to land. I think this is now at the point where its worth rolling into a release? AutoATC Developer
September 10, 20205 yr Yep, i'm able to enter the position now and the main displays are now are now coming on, however I'm unable to to enter the fmc to enter the take off refers, getting the key not active on this, therefore not getting what you are showing on you video. getting late here so will try again tomorrow. many thanks .. bob

That is of a slightly different part of my github repository. "navigation systems" https://github.com/mSparks43/747-400/tree/navigationsystems I have been building/testing vnav on that for the last few weeks or 10. github is an open development/collaboration website/tool. I made the video so others can check I didnt make any bo bos without having to download and fly it themselves - just point to the time in the video something is wrong. Other people are also developing things that take their fancy, I know there are RB211 engines being made and quite close to ready now, a start on a 400f fuselage, someone else did some shine on the pfds (commit history shows who did what when) There is yet more sat as a "pull request" - which means "this stuff is ready please add it for everyone who downloads". ->if anyone else wants to join in, its more or less as simple as clicking the "fork" button at the top of the github webpage and you are good to go. All that said. Take off vrefs are calculated atm by entering a flaps entry, which iirc valid entries are 10 or 20, which has been available on the main branch for some time. There will be lots of little details to fix for a long while yet, its a nice plane to dig into to understand how everything works, its all open, nothing is locked away in closed source or DRM garbage, all and any contributions are welcome - as long as they aimed at making it more like the real ones. Many thanks for your input and the info. bob edit.. I entered a cruise level FL330 with a restriction of fl170 in the altitude display of the autopilot, however the the restriction was ignored and carried on with the clime to fl330. ILS landing worked ok, very enjoyable. + Edited September 11, 20205 yr by onebob

VS/FLCH or VNAV, are you talking about the speed restrictions on the FMC VNAV pages or a holding altitude on the MCP The above video is supposed to abide by plus what the FCOM says. to resume a climb when it reaches MCP altitude (if its set lower than cruise, which is why I dial in >20000 in the video) push the alt knob (not 100% sure that's correct procedure, but someone else said its fine) Don't have the cruise step climb or half circle in there yet (and they will probably be an after release thing) Edited September 11, 20205 yr by mSparks AutoATC Developer
