January 30, 20206 yr Anyone wondered why we haven’t seen any wing flex in any of the videos yet? I would have thought wing flex would be fundamental to their 1000 point forces calculation as the angle of the surfaces would change and hence result in a different force applied. Therefore I feel like it would be implemented early in the build so if it is planned to still be added, it would just be a visual thing...
January 31, 20206 yr There is a shot of the A320 about to land and it looks like the wings are flexed up. It is unknown by know if the flex is affecting the wing points dynamically or just a visual and correct me if I'm wrong.
January 31, 20206 yr Commercial Member Which of the aircraft in these videos would you expect to see wing flex anyway? They aren't really particularly flexible apart from a bit on the airbus. January 31, 20206 yr Aww, I'll miss my 787 pigeon. But yeah, most of the planes they showed shouldn't really flex unless they are under extreme conditions. I noticed the A320 during the landing seeming to flick up just a tad.
January 31, 20206 yr The only thing I've seen wing flex on is airliners and sailplanes. I've read about fairly dramatic wing flex on the DC-3 in really rough weather. They said they could see the engine nacelles moving. I don't remember flying in a 747, but you can bet there will be some wing flex. Much smaller airliners have it. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

January 31, 20206 yr I am sure it will come, it's not a game breaking feature if it isn't there right away. I guess we'll see once we have some videos of airliners flying inside turbolent air Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

I find wingflexing very satisfying to watch IRL 🙂 Victor Roos
January 31, 20206 yr Flexing wings, as long as it is accurately modelled, would be nice, but it wouldn't be in my top 10 wishlist. I've seen wingflex in older sims where there were only a couple of shapes modelled, so you would see the wing jump from neutral to 15% wingflex in an instant. On the other hand, if they can produce it believably, it would be both nice especially on sailplanes or smaller aircraft, where it is another warning of extreme stress. January 31, 20206 yr Wing flex in a physics sense with effects on the flight model - yes please! Wing flex that looks pretty from the cabin - not so bothered. Edited January 31, 20206 yr by gb09f Forgot how to speak English.

Primarily for the flight model. But also in terms of immersion. It does not have to look like that tho. Edited January 31, 20206 yr by tweekz Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
