GTN 750 just showing blank screen all of the sudden

Featured Replies

Last night I tried to go for a flight in a plane which has a 3D GTN installed and when I powered the plane up to the com2 radios and ADF lit up but the GTN was blank I tried pulling up the 2d GTN and it was still blank. I tried the GTN out in other planes most of which don't have the 3d model and it doesn't seem to power up at all. I've got the latest X-Plane release 11.35 and I hit the check for updates under the GTN menu in X-Plane and it says I've got the latest version of the GTN 750.

Are there any known issues with the GTN and X-Plane 11.35?

It probably is acting up I tried to reinstall the GTN this morning but the installer keeps getting blocked by windows and deleted right away.

Update it appears that McAfee Live safe has been quarantining a file called rxpGTNSim32.dll. I am trying to figure out where on my computer this file is but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks, I found the files, my program data folder was hidden and that's why I couldn't find it; I'm still new to Windows 10 after being a Mac user for years

I tested it and my GTN 750 is now working again, thanks for your help Bert I knew there were issues with the installer being false positively recognized has a virus but I would have never thought the program files would also have a problem.

Thank you. Being a first class dummy- what do I do with this information? Do I delete one? Move one?

Neither.. they both stay..

Bert

Thank you Bert. So....how do I get the GTN to turn on? The other/ smaller GPS is on. It is just the GTN750 that does not turn on- or at least I can't see how to do it. Turn off McAfee safe connect? or McAfee Live Safe?

You have not explained your problem, if it is the same as the previous poster.. turning off your AV as a test might be a good next step..

I do not use McAfee so am not seeing this.. but I have had AVG act up in the past, so that is indeed what what I would try..

Bert

Thank you again. Another question. (They get stupider! 🙂 ). What is an AVG? I'll shut it off!!

AVG is my AV program..

Bert

Sorry, Bert. Not understanding. Just trying to turn on the Reality GTN. I have no idea about the  AV Program or how it works with the Reality GTN.  Don't think I have it either.

/p

Whatever AV program you have installed MAY be interfering with the operation of your GTN.. That is all.

If so, turn it off as a test

Bert

Bert. I don’t think I have any AV program installed. I installed the original GTN 750  unit as prescribed. I also updated it- I think via the Reality link or website. It’s now dead  Blank. The secondary GPS works fine,
