RTX2080ti for VR

Featured Replies

Anyone tried the new card with VR.

I have an old TitanXP running a 4K Pimax and running it quite well I might add.

However this new card shows a nice 18% increase in performance in most games according to a few XP vs 2080 comparison videos.

Looks promising?

Works very nicely in VR

Thanks HiFlyer,

Now I’ve just got to figure out which 2080ti card to buy, my local store has 13 different types to choose from.

For example there’s an OC, Strix, Advanced Edition, XC Ultra and AORUS Xtreme just to name a few.

Going shopping tomorrow, Looking forward to a slight boost in VR performance.

I went from a GTX 1070 8 GB to a ASUS Strix 2080ti 11 GB

In my Ocolus P3D is more smooth specially in clouds or bad weather and fog. Dynamic Lights also performs great, but dont expect 18% more frames.

Got my new pc (i9 9900k and a 2080ti) yesterday but I´ll wait for the p3d 4.4 release tomorrow to check it up. Can´t wait to try my oculus since I only fly VR. Hope I won´t be disappointed after selling one of my kidneys :/

cheers

My guess is, you wont see a high gain in fps until bad weather kicks in, even my 1080 is not used 100% in normal situations, so there probably wont be much difference.

But when you go the Pimax 5k/8k route, it will definitively perform better, do to the higher resolution.
