Hey everyone!

Got a bit of spare cash for the first time in a while this month and was looking to pick up some add-ons for FSX: Steam Edition. Just wondering what some of the better or more popular add ons are, i don't have any real preference when it comes to aircraft type, just want some new experiences beyond the default stuff.

Any good scenery add-ons or effects plug in suggestions would be appreciated too.

Anything by PMDG for Boeings.

For Airbus, either FSL (FlightSimLabs) or if your system is not too recent, the Aerosoft Airbus.

The absolute swiss army knife of ATC/co-pilot add-ons, one which lets you talk to air traffic control, talk to your co-pilot, have your co-pilot operate the aeroplane for you, etc, etc. It's quite pricey, but it is worth every penny: http://www.multicrewxp.com/

Best GA bizjer--Carenado Cessna Citation 550 with loads of steam gauges and a great autopilot and cruise climb mode.

Other recommendations here are all good, take your pick!

All of the above suggestions are great!  My favorite addons because they affect the whole experience and immersion of flying are Active Sky Next and Orbx FTX Global.

Euhhh …. Why wait with expanding your experiance beyond the default stuff, untill you have spare cash to spend ??
With ton's  of great freeware addons available ??

That aside:
"payware" doesn't necessarily mean it's "better" then available "freeware".
A good example being Maryadi's freeware MV22 Osprey addon.

Besides, some really out-of-the-ordinary addons are only availble as freeware.
All  depending on the type of addon's you are looking for ……

Just saying that you don't have to spend any cash PerSé,  to enhance your flightsim experiance ..

I agree with rcbarend: "payware" doesn't necessarily mean it's "better" then available "freeware".On some occasion I have purchased payware addons, that haave proved to be a flop for my simming experience aand frustrating for my pocket, as most companies that market these have the last say in the small writting at the end of an agreement and there are No refunds. I have stuck by freeware and PAD is an excellent example of people that enjoy supplying us with good software and take responsability for any shortcomings, ( See theire fixes section)

On one occasion I had a very good experience with a supporter from a Company that is well known to the community, I refrain from mentioning its' name because I don't want to seem as I am advertising. The supporter even helped me fix the addonn as they were some problems that had not been solved when marketed; It had some navigation issues which he help me correct. There are other excellent sites that provide very good support via theire forums or special support pages, as we all may know.
