May 12, 20188 yr Just bought this bird and although Carenado planes are usually not that complicated, I miss a manual for this bird. Using the documents provided is not sufficient. I really miss a how to. Starting up from Cold and Dark, no idea. Simply follow the checklists? Any help greatly appreciated... May 14, 20188 yr Author No one else? Are you all really using this bird without any Manual? Simply by going through the checklists? How do you know where which switch or knob is? How to you use the autopilot when using the GTN750? Sorry, but I am lost with this plane... May 14, 20188 yr 1 hour ago, AnkH said: Are you all really using this bird without any Manual? Yes. I find the documentation not perfect, but reasonably good. I go through "S340 Normal Procedures.pdf". If I don't find a button, I consult "S340 Overhead Panel Layout.pdf" and "DCP.pdf". Peter
May 14, 20188 yr Author Ok, I will try with those documents then. Just as I first started up the sim with the Saab, I was overwhelmed by the buttons, knobs and switches on the overhead. For such planes, I am usually terribly happy with a document providing a step by step instruction for an example flight... May 22, 20188 yr Author Well, with some try and error and the advice here I now managed to get this bird from A to B. It is not as complicated as the complex overhead panel suggested... However, as I am not that used (lets say not used at all) to turboprops in the sim, I wonder about the power settings each time I fly the Saab. And again I do not find the relevant information in the docs... For the moment, I take off with full power and full forward prop lever and then reduced that everything stays inside the green zone. I don't change this setup until I reach cruising altitude. For cruise, I reduce both prop lever and throttle as much as needed to maintain a good speed, for example 250kts (ground speed) on 26'000ft. Is this somehow reasonable? How should I do it correctly? And what are those friction levers both for throttle and prop? So many questions and no docs... May 23, 20188 yr Friction levers or knobs depending on AC apply friction/resistance to movement of the control levers to prevent them creeping or being easily bumped They have no real use in FS Lew HAL 9000....... When FMC's go bad........very bad
