P3D3 Just Like P3D2.5 - I Don't Think So!

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

Still messing around with P3D3 <--What is this StarWars  :p0307:   , but I got some of it setup and is she able to push (12288x2160x32) some pixels... I could NEVER EVER do this in FSX or P3D2.5 and run a flight.

Flight Simulation just took a major leap in the right direction, thanks L/M

I concur Mike..

For the first time I feel like I have a real upgrade from FSX to a new flight sim P3D V3 is it.  Except maybe the water.. LOL :) The dead water from altitude is like a pebble in my shoe.

Now I can actually do a  long haul flight with the 777. The OOM issue is a big big big win from LM.

Even with P3Dv2.x I felt like I needed to have my FSX with DX10 on my machine..now I am getting rid of FSX for the first time... and after ORbx migration, the P3DV2 would also go.

I am going to have just one sim..P3D V3.x :)

This will hold until the 64 bit version  and they (LM)  can take their time on that. No pressure for the 64bit.

Wow that's a lot of pixels. That must look amazing in person.

Hi Mike, are you making videos in your sim? Would be cool to see some gopro-like footage!

That's a lot of pixel color changes per second.

4096 textures?  I know V3 is much better with VAS and performance, but 4096 textures is pushing it ... especially if you actually have any scenery that really is 4096 textures!  I use 4096 textures primarily for testing the boundaries ... for normal flight I'm at 2048.

Cheers, Rob.

Mike,

Gotta agree totally! My settings sliders are all the way to the right 60% airline traffic 30% GA. The texturing with REX, ASN and soft clouds is amazing. No way could V2.5 ever come near this. No .cfg tweaks necessary. A P3D v2.6 it ain't, P3D v3 is the new benchmark for Flight Simulation.

Hi Rob,

I was looking to see what it would take to cause an issue, but with no addons and no V/C... I run a flight deck from Flight Deck Solutions, she didn't crash. Now that says something about what was done under the hood.

I've been on your blog page, it hasn't been updated in a while, would like to try your setting. Both P3D3 and Nvidia control panel and/or Nvidia Inspector.

Thanks

Hi,

Nothing with the three 75" 4K's and P3D3 yet, but I have other videos (projector and 4K) up on Youtube. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqTiCN9u_pvyU9NTqhtgJ9w

Hi Chris,

That was at max, with that said however... I turned off ALL AI and water, set clouds to min and turned off HDR. What was left was a beautiful dusk approach into KLAX, I'll have some new video of the setup online soon.

Mike, as I mentioned previously you have so much kit! Why not buy the real thing and park it in you driveway? Anyway thanks for your positive inputs to the forums! I agree, P3D3 is a huge step forward for my needs..
