Adding AutoGen to Photo Scenery and other questions

Featured Replies

Hi, photo scenery experts. I have only one photo scenery package. Switzerland from MSE and I have enjoyed but for some issues.

The colour differences between tiles are sometimes very big and Airport runways and building don't seem to overlay the Runways and building in the photos. Apart from those 2 issues I enjoy using the scenery. I only use it for Flying gliders since ASN can now provide what is to me quite compelling orographic lifting. Ridge running involves flight that is often only a couple of hundred feet above the tree tops. I thought I read a post recently about an addon that adds trees to Photoscenery. Anyone know anything about that? How would that work? Perhaps the addon can scan the scenery and recognize areas that are tree covered and overlay those ares with autogen trees? is that an addon that does the same for building and perhaps Communications towers etc.?

I am mainly interested in MSE Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland. Anyone have any comments on these scenery's. Is it possible to add autogen trees? Are there better products from other venders and there freeware photoscenery for these states that are just as good?

OpenVFR

Thanks, that looks great in the video. I already picked up Nuvecta for Pannslyvania and its not bad for $15. certainly takes away that flat look of photo real at low alt. That's a lot better than spending days on a DIY project. Who am I kidding, weeks. Although its only trees and no building.

Will pickup the OpenVFR for Switzerland though. It seems the price is right:-)

Yes either OpenVFR or Nuvecta to add trees at the moment. OpenVFR has other object libraries available too. Nuvecta is working on autogen building and object add-ons too I believe.

I do my own DIY, as I fly rural Iowa and Minnesota and like to have small corn field props and barn houses to maneuver around while landing. Now its fall, I rebuild small fields in Arizona now for wintertime as snowbirds from midwest need place to keep warm.  I use Sketchup and Object maker, instant scenery, and Airport studio I bought those tools over time to make it possible to modify the simple airfields.
