Errr...  I read the entire thread.... "Beechjet" still has the issue.

Maybe related to MTX.... maybe not...

Maybe I'll install it again since it's been a few years - and see if the issue happens.

Either way hopefully the new CX won't have the issue!

Err..Reread, Beechjet is referring to a solved issue, then introduces another error by experimentation. B)

In all cases it appears that third party stuff is starving the MFD of resource at critical times.

That is when MFD is the busiest processing, other apps starve it out.

But be careful to note that absent the third party stuff and with proper Navigraph (only) Navdata updates the issue vanishes.

Our forums are the place for this, not the Avsim forum.

Ron, If this really is the case then there is an issue with the coding which needs addressing by Eaglesoft.

Or are you recommending only using the CX with a vanilla FSX install ?

Nothing of the sort. Read the thread dog, it's quite obvious that third party stuff interferes.

Take a look at the post by Ted Striker right here four or five posts above in in this thread. There he refers to My Traffic versions.

It is NOT unusual for silly stuff to happen when users think they should run anything in any way they wish. This is no different.

Example: Aerosoft created and sold a DB without testing or consulting us at all. This while claiming it was for CX2.0.

Turns out that users have problems with our stuff when they use the Aerosoft DB. This caused us to release a disclaimer.

Again, we don't do product support at Avsim. If folks continue along this line I'll ask the mods to shut this down.

Ron, I will bow out now as I do not want to see the thread locked.

Dog, we appreciate not having yet another time where folks misunderstand and then begin to argue various pros and cons on a subject. B)

Having been in the CTD business for a long time (AVSIM CTD Forum), I think it is unfair to blame one particular product for crashes.  While some might have a crash while flying the Citation X, hundreds, maybe thousands are not.  Ted Striker made a good point that crashes can come from anywhere and I was involved with Ted and others in figuring out where the ntdll.dll or stackhash type crashes were coming from.  Not from the Citation or a PMDG product but from an AI program.  Other reasons could be caused from high settings, wrong voltages in an overclock, wrong memory settings, and loss of virtual address space to name a few.  We have already found and proven that individuals who own and enable a lot of photoscenery will see crashes unless they take certain actions to avoid those crashes (i.e., disabling only the photoscenery you will be using during a flight session).  Each crash has to be investigated and just because it happens only when you are flying a certain aircraft does not mean that's the issue, and, just because it happens only when running FSX does not mean FSX is the issue.  Memory configurations, overheating, lack of an adequate power supply, system drivers can easily bring any system down whether running fsx or not.  It's just that FSX configurations can trigger these system problems where playing Solitaire would not.  There are a lot of people running FSX and FSX addons without any problems.  Let's not get into blaming a particular commercial product unless everyone who owns that product is having exactly the same issue.

I'm going to place this topic under surveillance by our moderators and if it gets out of hand or starts going way South, we will lock it so let's be civil.

Jim, brings up a good point. I reported that MyTrafficX 5.4c caused ntdll crashes which I should not have said because I do not know if it was the cause. I do not know anywhere near enough about the inner workings of windows coding to know this. For all I know, the 5.4c version could be coded perfectly and some other unrelated software is interacting with it poorly and causing the crash. Burkhardt, the developer, is not having any issues running version 4.5c. All I know at this time is that downgrading to 5.4b eliminated the crashes for myself and others. The same seems to be occurring with the Citation X MFD freeze. Some have it and others don't. It is a process of elimination to determine which software are conflicting with each other.

Now lets return to our scheduled program, details on the new XLS, CII, CJ1+, and XLS, specifically which new ESDG jet will the test pilots be flying first? :Big Grin: I realize this may be a moivng target at this time.

First our thanks to Jim and Ted for their thoughtful input. We are aware of a certain software which DOES cause issue with ours as stated.

On second thought is was likely inappropriate of us to name them here. It is not our desire to be inappropriate in posting here and we certainly will ask for a lock if things get out of hand by either ourselves or others. B)

So getting back on track.

Had more experience with the X 2.0 last night.  Again love it!   My experience with ES products thus far has been awesome.  I went from the Premier, to the CJ1+, and now the Citation X 2.0 extreme.

What I like is the ten fold increase in learning curve with each new model.  That is a good thing.  I have over 26 real world airplanes in my pilot logbook and that is how the real world is.  So with every step up in model has been better surprises.

Guys do yourself a favor and head over to ES forums.  There is more amazing information over there released about what is coming beyond the the XLS.  What else is great worth the read in my opinion is where ES is going and the structure of things to come!

Thanks Jet. B)

Will this colaboration with LES bring the new Jets also to the X-Plane platform?

Will this colaboration with LES bring the new Jets also to the X-Plane platform?

As the thread states, LES will continue their excellent work for the XPlane platform while ES will focus on the FSX and P3D platforms. B)
