August 1, 201213 yr TweakTown has gotten an R&D sample of the GTX 660 Ti due out shortly, looks like it's the new price to performance king of this generation, much like the GTX 560 Ti of last. If you're a simmer on a budget, this is probably the card for you. Note: this card is not yet for sale, and the price is not known. Expected to be somewhere in the $249-$349 range, with price drops from AMD to follow in order to realign their product stack to be more competitive.
August 1, 201213 yr Thanks for the HU. In sheer performance, this card is predicted to perform similarly to the 580... If this is the case, this will be one of the best bang for buck cards ever produced.
August 2, 201213 yr Wow great looking card. May have grabbed it instead of my 670 if it had been available. Randy Swofford
August 2, 201213 yr Author Max would 2 of these in SLI be enough for 3x27" monitors?? Good question. For most games out there I would say yes. FSX is a different story though. It's just too CPU-bound, especially in the VC of complex aircraft where most people do their flying and SLI offers no performance boost there.
August 2, 201213 yr I don't think FSX will take advantage of anything any higher than a 480/580 GTX Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10 MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled) 8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled) 32GB DDR4 3000 Ram 500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2
August 3, 201213 yr I don't think FSX will take advantage of anything any higher than a 480/580 GTX In high AA and heavy cloud scenarios FSX will most definitely use as much GPU as you throw at it.
August 7, 201213 yr This 660Ti is going to be my next GPU upgrade. It has the same shader processors as the 670 and looking at the AA tests and how video memory BW seems to be a non factor for SGSS, I would expect it to perform very close to the GTX680 at almost half the price.

I also think that they have pulled me in to! Later this year I am doing a full monitor, GPU, and SSD upgrade. I might also throw in Nvidia 3D surround. - I just got the starter analygraph glasses and I really like the effect in FSX!

SLI 690's might not be enough.
August 8, 201213 yr 3d surround is going to destroy your frame rate. SLI 690's might not be enough. I don't want 3 monitors. I simply want a good 27inch 1080P 120hz monitor. I've already been playing FSX in stereoscopic 3D and the frames aren't bad at all...

August 16, 201213 yr Author It's out! The Tech Report has reviewed a versions of this card from different vendors. Looks like the card to get right now unless you need better AA performance at high resolution, in which case you may even need to step up to a 690 to get what you're after, quite a large difference in price.
August 16, 201213 yr I really like the sounds of this card. If some good sales around Black Friday arrive, I will very likely pick up one of these or a 670. I hope some users pick these up so we can see how they compare to the 670,680 and 580.
