Featured Replies

You guys do as you wish, but I shall get the Deluxe Cub because... I love Cubs!

:good:

Same here. I pretty much only fly the CC in Flight, have the A2A Cub for FSX and another Cub add-on for FS9. I love Cubs.

All I care about is that there is no or minuscule delay in bringing the deluxe cub to Steam.

Unlike a few folks on here who use Steam yet managed to buy Alaska through the marketplace, I can't...has to do with having a Canadian address on my credit card and paypal, but my Live ID is American...can't get past the payment screen. Long story. Anyhow, I'm crossing my fingers there won't be the same 5 day delay like there was with Alaska!

I hope it's not too long before it goes on sale at the Market Place. My feeling is that they could put it there right now if they wanted to, I doubt if they are doing a last minute pre-flight on it before releasing it.

I've got a similar problem with buying stuff from the Marketplace on the internet. For some reason my pc isnt 'my trusted pc', and since there is no solution for ppl with this problem (and believe me, i searched a lot on this issue) i couldn't buy Alaska, and i had to wait for the Steam-release.

There is also a Marketplace option within Flight, but there Alaska didn't show up!

But then I found out that the Steam version of Flight has a modified marketplace from within Flight itself, so you can't buy stuff from the in-game marketplace option that isn't already released on Steam itself. They seem to block content that isn't released on Steam, they don't display it.

When i installed the normal GFWL-version of Flight, i could buy Alaska from the in-game marketplace, so before the release on Steam. Maybe this will help you too? Because if you can login to Xbox-live from within the game, you probably can buy stuff too.

At least it is worth a try. After you installed the DLC, it is immediately available in your Steam-install as well.

Thanks for the suggestion! Problem is however is that when I try to buy content from the Marketplace, it asks to to verify my billing address. Problem is there is no option to enter a Canadian address, and I live in Canada. There would be an option, if only my Live ID was created as "Canadian". Not sure why it's American, and of course it hasn't mattered at all until now.

The folks at Xbox said my only option was to create a new LiveID with a new Hotmail address, (which I don't want to do, my address is 14 years old) plus that would mean losing out on DLC already purchased which is attached to my current LiveID. I guess I could make it all work out if I really set my mind to it, but it's quicker to wait for things to be released on Steam.

Actually I have enough American relatives living in New York State....LOL, I should put down one of their billing addresses. Problem solved! (kidding)

Ah ok, too bad!

So you also get that screen when you try to buy from the marketplace within MS Flight? So not the website, but the in-game option?

Because i also get a pop-up saying that this is not my trusted pc preventing me from buying from the Marketplace, but i dont get that popup from within Flight.

Either way, i hate these security measures where honest people get a hard time buying stuff.

I've gotten that but they send me an email with a code to enter and I can then buy it fine.

I'm in FL and I can't buy either so I just buy points from amazon and use the points in the marketplace.

Looks like the VOR radio frequencies just below the GPS, so that could be DME to the right. I can't quite make it out, though.

Interesting choice of avionics. SL30 com/nav radio and a GTX-330 xpdr.

It'll be interesting to see how "in-depth" they've programmed the SL30 especially, as the area currently displaying *Flagged* will normally display a CDI when a valid VOR or ILS signal is received.

I sincerely doubt that the GTX-330 has more than a single function page, even though the real unit has eight function page displays...

Ah, thanks for indentifying the SL30. I just couldn't read what it said. So it's FLAGGED. Well, it's nice that we get some new equipment to play with! I am glad MS doesn't copy ALL devices from one VC to another: I don't like that Carenado-method.

And the GTX-330... I don't even think the device itself knows it should have pages...

The real unit (and the one I programmed for FS9/FSX) has six buttons on the right-hand side, The top button in the left column is the FUNC button, and allows one to scroll through the various pages. Among the pages are an Elapsed Flight Time display, a count up timer, and a count down timer that are separately controllable.

The SL30 displays *FLAGGED* whenever a VOR or ILS is tuned, but insufficent signal is present to drive the CDI accurately.

Digital avionics is the one of the biggest time consumer in making aircraft (3rd party or 1st) so shortcuts are often used. I wouldn't expect much.
