July 21, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hey guys, can you confirm or deny that the product has a FPS hit during the day? Even thought you cannot see the lights. I'm thinking in lines like where Orbx added a Night/Day batch files to reduce the hit during the day. ** Sounds like the product needs a good graphical interface for the many options simmers would like. ** They should add a forum - if they don't want the hassle to create one request a forum here at AVSIM. ** Add the option of different colored lights and different brightness for variety. ** Quit messing with the Halo.bmp. Too many add-ons use this texture and while it may look good with one product it can severely affect another. Can't they create custom textures to use for products like these. I made a custom Halo just for my landing lights/airport lights - took days tp prefect. Probably pick this up as well today as I like to tinker and the product has potential. July 22, 201213 yr Hmmm, purchased this and cant install it on win7 64? when I go to the backup window to select my FSX installlation the dialogue box opens but the OK/cancel buttons are missing Solution is to create an XNL.ini in the exe folder and add your path to FSX manually
July 22, 201213 yr Moderator Hello everyone, I come here to clarify that our product ExperienceX modifies the default FSX textures night . For users GEX, the hotfix preserves the textures of the night GEX. For UTX users, we have to modify the file terrain.cfg manually. Our support to this disposal. thanks bracket beetleprint. So do you need the hotfix prior to installing the program to prevent the GEX night textures from being overwritten and what exactly needs to be modified for UTX users? I understand the GEX problem with the textures but what does this program do that might cause issues with UTX? Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 22, 201213 yr Commercial Member The GEX hotfix must be installed after the ExperienceX. Each model GEX has instructions to be followed in the installation. The problem UTX is TERRAIN.CFG each file is different from one another. We're still testing a hotfix for UTX. For now we are modifying manually. thank you bracket beetleprint PS: Some users are reporting that is missing in your account simMarket hotfix GEX users. (SP1) for those who are experiencing this problem following direct link. http://www.beetleprint.com.br/arquivos/hotfix%20GEX%20and%20new%20guide.rar
July 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member Just picked it up tonight and with the terrain.cfg tweaks, it looks pretty darn good. Couple things: 1. Hey Richard (or anyone), is there a way to adjust the actual size of each light? Up in the air it looks great but on the ground the size of each light from each pole is too big for me. Would like to scale that down a tad and find a nice compromise. 2. Did a run at KLAS. The city was lit up real nice but if I followed say Interstate 15 out of Vegas the lights ended at the outskirts of town. I was expecting/hoping to see a light every now and then out on the highway in the lonely desert. 3. Simmer should have the option to retain their night textures no matter if they use GEX, default or whatever. Options are good! 4. Discovered that the lights sit on top of my Megascenery! Adds a real nice touch to overall immersion. July 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member What tweaks ? The ones mentioned above... what you add to the Terrain.cfg file. Can anybody change the size of the "light bulb"? July 24, 201213 yr Just for the record, ExperienceX is working fine for me in Prepar3D. The tweaks described above are applicable to P3D, as well.

July 24, 201213 yr Commercial Member "What does that mean? Are lights limited to cities or something like that?" No, not at all. I had the lights running with MegaScenery Las Vegas running so there are apparently some little incompatibilities when using photoreal scenery which would be expected. I didn't think it would work at all but was pleasantly surprised to see it working. Experience X guys said it would take some customization (and developer approval) to work fully with stuff like MegaScenery, but it doesn't mean us simmers can't find a way, ha! July 25, 201213 yr What does this line do ? "ExclusionWidth=50" I see that Richard Sennet (post #77) has it in his terrain.cfg but honanhal (post #99) does not ? Did you notice a big difference( brightness and perf hit) between ObjectSize=150 and ObjectSize=200 Thanks

Thanks Hello guys :smile2: Nice addon, I've purchased it ans installed it with UTX (without night lights) and GEX Same question for me, I've these lines. They must be removed ? Luc
July 25, 201213 yr Hello, just for the record: If you are an Orbx-user then please take a look at your terrain.cfg after starting and finishing FTX Central. For me all the last five blocks were deleted after this action. I'm using FTX Central in P3D. So everytime I use FTX Central I need to restore my terrain.cfg from a backup. Patric Edit: This behavior could be a problem of my Orbx-installation. I will check it.
