Another thing about the weather radar comments, which get brought up many times as some sort of example of systems modeling by Captain Sim, is that this is not a valid argument. Until Captain Sim models a weather radar that actually simulates what a real weather radar does, which is show radar returns from precipitation, they do not get credit for simulating weather radar. Their weather radar is akin to a virtual cabin. It looks nice and that is about it.

Hello Nuno

If you get a chance can you tune the VHF radio on the glareshield to 110.90 and let me know what happens.

Nothing? It reads "110.90" as expected. No station with 110.90 nearby so nothing happens.

What really matters is that it's there, it's not a black hole in the cockpit. What really matters is that the PMDG 737NGX lacks a 2D throttle quadrant, indispensable for flying and aircraft operation. 2D panel users were basically... fooled into buying an incomplete aircraft. How about that?

Why keep on bashing CS? Every developer fails, even "the best", but when that happens with "the best" nobody cares. Unfair, eh?

It shouldn't read 110.90 in the first place as that is a LOC frequency, which is not tunable by the VOR radios on the glareshield of a 767.

Captain Sim has released products with no 2D cockpits, so that argument is a moot point. And I am not bashing, I am pointing out areas where the Captain Sim 767 does not surpass the Level D 767, and correcting the non-factual assertions that the Captain Sim 767 has more accurate/complete systems on the whole as the Level D 767.

The argument is perfectly valid when the aircraft in question features a full 2D cockpit and lacks an important panel. When a product is advertised as having no 2D cockpit, that's entirely different, as it will happen with the T7 (supposedly).

And i apologise for the "bashing" word, i'm not a native english speaker so that was probably a bad choice in this case.

Nuno, you shouldn't be able to tune that kind frequency (110.90) on NAV1 (or 2) in a (proper) 'simulation' of the 767 ... That's where audiohavoc is trying to point you.

The real thing has an "ILS box"... Another interface for ILS frequencies.

EDIT... Late. You already got your answer... I'm out. :Nerd:

I agree it would have been nice for the 2D users to get a TQ, but at least they got something as opposed to nothing. On the other hand, the TQ is accessible via the VC, and how often does the average user need to see the TQ? There are only a few instances during a flight with no failures that the pilot must actually look at the TQ.

Another thing, I have every Captain Sim product for FSX (minus the 777) and I simply have grown a bit weary of the areas which they don't simulate, particularly realistic engine startup and performance figures. They rely too much on FSX native coding in this area with their releases for my personal preference. I just don't think I can personally justify paying $60+ USD or more for their 777 unless it comes with failures, basic maintenance, custom coded engine performance/behavior, and a proper weight and balance progam or something akin to what PMDG did with the NGX load manager in the CDU. I realize there is a discount for the open BETA program, but I don't want to make a gamble with my money hoping that they release a 777 with these features.

Are you sure about that? This is from Smartcockpit, now granted There is no mention of it's source, but the stuff they post is usually petty accurate. Take a look at page 2 of this document!!

It is likely just a default freq they put in those VOR windows. The same freq is in the ILS tuner on the pedestal diagram.

According to Gary Hayes, a Level D developer:

"

On the real 767 you cannot tune any ILS freqs with the VOR radios. They wont allow you to put the freq in. Hence the skipping. This was told to us my our 19000 hour 767 captain. And our avionics Engineer."

On the CS767 it is possible to put in 110.90. Or 109.90 or 109.50. There is a separate ILS radio, but you can put them on the VOR radios as well.

Fyi that screenshot showing weather radar in the ND of the Level-D was photoshop'd in. You cannot get weather radar integrated into the ND in the VC, it's just not possible.

For me, the fact that FS2Crew works with Level-D and doesn't exist for CS 767 makes Level-D the better sim.

Trying to compare FS2Crew with MCE, which does work with the CS 767, just isn't a fair competition.

Hello

This should not be possible on a 767 Vor receiver, it should skip valid Localiser freq's

Just one example of the CS systems not being simulated to the same level of detail as the LVL-D

Are you sure about that?

YES. 100% sure.

The Wilco 767 PIC is the gold standard.

I don't like the LevelD 767.

I hated the cabin crew, didn't like the fact that it only had one model, a so-so VC even with the update...just the whole thing felt pretty "meh" to me honestly. It might have the best systems simultions of any 767 but that hardly makes it superior. Real airplanes hardly ever break, I don't care about failure simulations. I have aircraft that include this feature but I don't assume that is the reason they are superior to another developers version.
