What do YOU want to see in SP2?

Featured Replies

OK here we go...I would like to see a weather radar. I know this is well beaten dead horse, but my view is this: We are all flying on a simulator, and in our particular case, there is quite a bit of imagination that goes into it. Is it that bad to pretend that when you see the red in the radar you need to avoid it? Other developers do it, and people love it. I understand PMDG's view on this, but what is the harm in making it?

About Stickers: have this one removed. I can't see the logic of this sticker "Hud deactivated", when the aircraft hasn't a Hud installed.hud.jpg
THat picture looks sooooooo real

The current manuals (FCTM, Ops Manuals, QRH) are in PDF, but the tables of content are not clickable. What I am talking about here is the possibility of clicking on any item in the ToC and jumping to that page; then coming back to the ToC by clicking a back button. This is something that is easily done when you create a PDF document. My suggestion is to re-issue these manuals with such links. It is not easy to find page 4.20.10 manually!

Well if they decide to implement it HOPEFULLY it can be turned off in the FMC.
Some failures are already present if you don't use the aircraft as it must be, an example is the APU, maybe also the engine adds wear as on my plane the vbration started to increase a bit. I've not tried, but I'm pretty sure that the engine will fail at maximum thrust (full throttle) for more than the limits.Autopilot will be damaged by kicking the joy/yoke with to much force.... So, do you have failures activated or not on your bird? If not, you are losing a good part of the simulation. And, I will repeat forever, the simulator is a thing that lets you try conditions that in real life cannot be done due to life risk. It is a simulator, it could be used to simulate bad things out from the manuals, just to see what the plane is able to do.It is simple to fly with checklists all the time, see how the autopilot does for most of the time and hand fly for just few seconds at each flight, just clicking buttons in sequence, after a while, it becomes a bit boring I think...If other failures can be added due to an incorrect usage, it is a welcome feature, like who want to take off with F4 key... if they do, will pay the consequences.I've seen how dodosim 206 works, it needs a trained pilot just to start it, and needs to be handled gently to prevent damages. This results in more people looking at manuals as if you have all the time the same failures, it becomes an user error.

It suprises me that you guys expect PMDG to read all seven pages so far, of how dissatisfied you are with the present model? Service packs require time and money and are usually a loss to the company that has already surpassed all others with this great model.Just an observation....................I have not seen any indication that there will be a SP2, maybe one of you can direct me?

+1 ! (why not a single hidden hotspot to tell us how is it set?)+ Right Click on Master Caution would show Right Annunciators Display for 2D.

I noticed if you choose remove blocks from the CDU options page everything else is removed too (ground power, air cond).if you make a hotkey and use the hotkey to remove blocks, not everything else is removed

Removing block is the final step before taxiing, ground equipment wise I mean. So if you remove blocks in the sim, then the rest should have gone too and as such what you se ein the NGX is all but logical. I'm not sure how a hotkey to remove the block only would make things more realistic...

Mhhh... not sure, but I was reading about an hotkey added for the chokes in the SP1, not sure about it...

USER INTERFACE CHANGES:
  • Disabled mousewheel input for the outer BARO and MINS knobs.
  • Tweaked vertical view angle in the 2D panel to make it easier to see the runway on approach.
  • The landing gear now respond to separate gear up and down commands - was requested by many hardware users.
  • Fixed numerous issues with panel states not saving certain items. (chronometer, flap setting, MCP brightness etc)
  • Added a key command for setting the wheel chocks.
  • Added error-handling for situations where a user assigns a startup panel state but then deletes the actual state files.
  • CDU keyboard direct entry mode now works on the FO's CDU and on multiple monitor systems.

I was remembering correctly... Maybe you will find the key on the manual.

Benjamin I am sure you just misunderstood, I believe what Mitch is asking is to make the hotkey behaviour the same as when you pull the chocks via CDU.

+ Right Click on Master Caution would show Right Annunciators Display for 2D.
This would be a nice addition to the VC as well (popup maybe?). Very hard to see the right hand annunciators.
