Which European airport addon for NGX?

Featured Replies

Aerosoft Münster Osnabrück! that is one of the best airpot addons in germany! very very good fps, even on my low system! and look is perfect! difficult to approach and yeah, perfect for the 738, tuifly and ab flying there!
Don't get me wrong, but what is it so difficult about approach into Munster?I bought Aerosoft EDDG a long time ago and flown in/out with JS41 a lot. Standard ILS approaches on both runway directions, no mountains, nothing... apart from the almost 2200m runway, which isn't that short. To the original poster:If i were you, i would forget about Aerosoft's LFPG, LFPO, EGLL, EHAM. Those are really heavy sceneries when it comes to FPS. I regret buying them and don't fly in/out of them. But that doesn't mean they don't have some really nice looking and frame rate friendly sceneries, like: LFMN, LOWI (!), EDDM, EHRD, LEBL, LEPA, LEMH, LEIB, EDLW, EDDH, ENGM, ENVA and EDDG (mentioned above). Just watch out which one you're choose from their catalog.Don't miss FlyTampa's LOWW. It's a masterpiece. They have released LGAV yesterday, don't have it yet, but i guess it the same quality.

Radek

Not as bad as ORBX airports. YBBN(brisbane, aus) is an absolute shocker!
Yeah I have heard that; I stick to FSDT stuff - IMHO they are the best scenery guys out there.

Best regards, happy flying,

sure for me it isnt difficult anymore, too. flown there many times, but ok with a JS41 its not difficult. but more difficult with a 737 for example. but for long time fs pilots no problem. sure..

If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot

So, tke a fully loaded(186 pax) boeing 737-800, about 16000kg fuel and a little bit cargo, than please make a real take off without spool up with some breaking... its like in Dortmund and Bremen, ore Paderborn, they needed a longer runway(before they had 10m more than in EDDG) because the planes couldn't fly fully loaded to te canary islands... :) That not as difficult as LOWI ore London City, but it's more difficult than in München or Hamburg... and with the Jetstream you will never have problems at international airports ;)

I hope some one will be landing in Madeira airport using the NGX and share it here. I won't be getting the NGX on release day...

It surely is inconvenient, because you can't carry as much pax/cargo as you could on a longer runway. Other than that you can use Topcat (www.topcatsim.com) and be more confident with your takeoff runswink.pngI work at an airport that has 2500m runway, but it's limited to 2300m TORA in one direction. Over the time i've seen B744, A333 and B763 taking off, some of them for a long flights. But... i was amazed seeing that Bristol has (had?) scheduled transatlantic flights from a 2000m runway (757 IIRC) !When it comes to simming, i actually find Munchen and Hamburg more difficult when flying online, because of the taxiways layout happy.png

^^ Hehe, <es the taxiways are especially in münchen difficult... In EDDG there already were 2 747 at the same time, a 777, 767, a330, a340 and one time the Concord! but i bet that the 747SP from corsairfly ore the 777 from Aeromexico don't were very full... just not fully loaded. One time when we ook off runway 07 @ EDDG we just set the brakes and gave thrust, than after some seconds we began the take off rll and we only rotate about 200m before the end... there are such take offs and there are these take offs:

they have needed only i think 600 to 750 m for the take off... really extream powerfull xD

Has to be LOWI. The 737NG and that visual approach were made for each other.

Lows even better doing the offset vor/dme to 34 be a real good challenge in the 737 around the mountains, give you chance to hand fly the visual part or even gibraltar that's fun to.

Personally, I'm looking forward to trying Gibraltar LXGB (OK a bit further from the UK than the OP had in mind, but.....). Cheers, Brian

+1Or Munich. Huge airport, nice taxiway layout. Great visuals. And little frame rate hit.

Thanks for the overwhelming response guys, very useful indeed. I'll be checking out the FSDT addons for sure. I know what you mean about the Aerosoft Mega packages. I had the Heathrow addon (ok, not the best example due to its location) and it was almost unusable. It certainly wasn't enjoyable. The UK2000 version is much more usable. It's a shame there isn't an alternative to their EHAM airport as that would be the perfect distance for me to fly the NGX (new child = less sim time these days ;)) I like the idea of flying into LOWI - does anyone have any good flights from airports close to LOWI that would allow a short flight and approach into LOWI? Would be cool to fly this airport with the new terrain radar in action!
