for public relations reasons. Microsoft isn't going to say "lets start spending lots of money on a new flight simulator and we'll decide what's going to be in it later"

To make it seem like you are important to them.

Lol, you guys don’t think you’re being a bit cynical here?Feedback is part of the process all along the way....and in different ways.True, it's not treated like a design document (IMO anyway).MS needs to evaluate where the team stands.And the team needs to evaluate where the audience stands.And they both need to evaulate where the game stands ;) It's all usefull data.I kind of doubt there were many suggestion that didn’t already exist...but I don't think the point is to get new ideas.Well who knows ;)
