A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

Featured Replies

Been flying the PMDG MD-11 for a few short hauls here and there.Still 2 years on and this thing is amazing. Track IR and EZdok really help bring a new level to it aswell. If the NGX is half as good as this, then we are in for a severe FSX treat :)Cant wait..

I've been doing a ton of short and long hauls in the MD-11 lately. I'm guessing I have around 50 hours in the last month or so, which while not a lot, is probably more MD-11 flying than I had done in the 9 months prior to it. Now if only my FedEx freighter could magically fly itself back to Anchorage from Taiwan so I don't have to make the long flight back. :(

I do a mixture of flights in the three holer, ranging from 48 minutes to 13 hours. Can't wait for the ngx to do some 'shift' flights. (eg easyjet flights like egcc-gcts-egcc-eham-egnt etc.)

We'll make it easy for you and post the link again. This video was taken using TrackIR.

awesome mate!!! I must've missed that vid when it came out. I love using TIR but it does have issues from time to time. Still I wouldn't do without it.That certainly answers my question. :)Cheers guysJT

YOU MUST SIGN YOUR NAME TO EVERY POST IN THE PMDG FORUM. FIRST NAME, AND LAST NAME.FURTHER UNSIGNED POSTS WILL BE DELETED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.As for release dates: While we are thrilled people are anxious to get their hands on the NGX, we don't discuss release dates here, and our patience for continued posts complaining about release dates is wearing thin. If it makes everyone happy, and you really need an actual date to hold onto, our release date is now set at July of 2017. Anything earlier than that will be a happy surprise. So now we don't need to have endless discussions anymore about it, ok? July, 2017. See you then!
I thought a post like this would come along sooner or later :( Whilst I too am impatient to get the NGX - I'm happy to wait now, as the delay edges me closer to my new PC. Which may be an i7 chip - unless Sandybridge is the go? Hard to say, not enough on the forums about its suitability of FSX yet. Just hope the i7 gets cheaper!Like I said earlier - has anyone else checked out the Virtual Reality Simulations Superbug yet? My PC runs at 5FPS on this. Making it an interesting experience :( . Just rebuilt into Win7 64bit to try and speed things up (Dual core PC's are antiquated now). Its worth checking out some of the other aircraft out there while waiting. Its worth it.Cheers,David Stewart

"The aircraft G-limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular airplane. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no G-limits."

Yep, had the FS9 version, and I finally upgraded to the FSX one this December, and it is one awesome addon. Coupled with Javier's Nimitz and AICarriers, it's almost enough to drag me away from DCS A-10C.

After all the marketing hype and waiting lets hope its not a flop. To people who think an i7 will be cheap when it comes out you are probably right given the replacement for the i7..i suspect however the new sim in development by microsoft will see a different makeup requirement than that of FSX so you will probably get to choose

You know, if it is only 10% better than the MD-11, get ready for a lot of fun.I believe they were delayed as they decided to push the FSX boundaries to an extreme, so I for one look forward to it when it is released.Sure, it will have some "issues" initially, but that is routine, as PMDG still uses "Humans" for programmers.I say you will be anything but disappointed.

I could be wrong, but I believe he was referring to the Sandy Bridge processor and not the NGX.

Don't see how Sandy Bridge could be a flop - it's an improved i7 capable of 5+ GHz on air. FSX will eat that up.
