A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

You don't need an expensive computer or TrackIR to use a VC. I have a moderately priced computer and don't have TrackIR and use VCs exclusively, I can't imagine using a 2D cockpit.

Agreed you don't need some supersystem to use VC. For me the first time I tried it over 2D (years ago) I was so impressed that I can't ever imagine going back. Particularly during landings using a VC gives you a semblance of depth perception that I find invaluable.I think the ideal is a VC so crisp and clear that you can use every knob and button without having to open a subpanel and it looks like NGX is going to have just that.

I remember I was always frustrated with looking around the VC with the hat switch and then I finally realized what happened when you moved the mouse while holding down space bar. Since then it is very natural to fly in the VC. I have a button on my yoke programmed to engage the 'space bar' function so it's super easy to look around and then switch over to click a knob or something. One hand on the yoke, one on the mouse. That's how I like it.ZachA

I don't have a supercomputer either, but when I am at a place where I get better FPS, I switch to the VC. The only thing I don't like in the VC is that when the plane changes it's pitch or bank angle, or when I add or remove thrust, the camera slightly moves up, down, left, right, front or backward and sometimes I end clicking the wrong button. I know it gives more realism, but if there were a way to desable it, I'd use the VC a bit more frequently. I try to use the hat switch on my joystick but it is not very intuitive.

I only really started using the VC after I purchased the PMDG J41. I just got the Trackir 5. Just waiting for the postal service :( Can't wait to play around with it

There is a way to disable it, it is in the config files somewhere, it is very easy to do, put a quick search in google, or someone will shortly tell you how to do it

It's in the fsx.cfg file. Try to find smth with "head latency" or similar and zero the values.Unfortunately I've currently uninstalled FSX and cannot check the exact entry. If no answer's found I'll let you know once I put everything up (ultra boring)...

Look guys, I understand this is taking longer than we'd all like - I'm the one that has to come into the forum every morning and see the attacks, delete the stupid threads that people have posted against the rules overnight etc. You never even see half the stuff that actually gets posted here - I was quite upset by a couple of different things earlier this morning and if you were upset by what I posted, I'm sorry.I do think people are not even reading what we've already said before they start up with the posts asking for updates and so on. Someone just two posts above me asked if we could say "The 737NGX is taking more time than we thought. The project is moving forward as fast as we can, we are all pushing for the beta version." We've said essentially exactly that numerous times. The number of updates we do does not affect when you get the airplane and I'm just not sure what this is doing for people to demand constant updates from us. The external model is not ready to show. Neither are the other things that people have asked about. When they are ready, we will show them. I'm constantly amazed that people think we have some ulterior motive here, that we're actually done with the plane but just sitting on it and not releasing or showing screenshots as part of some plot to ###### everyone off. We're not.
Let's all please give Ryan a well deserved break from the ruthless and unrestrained release date saga that he has had to endure from this community.

A question to Ryan or Vin please ! Can i fly the NGX with real wetter? The 747X have a problem with there. I fyl with OpenClouds he updating every 5 minutes and fixes the fog bug in FSX. (its freeware) The good thing on this i can remove the highlevel wind than i can fly my B747X with real wetter. Thanks! and ps. become the NGX a gangways for After and backdoor exit? 577_800_X2_GALLERY_AIRstairs_FWD.jpg( yes since B727 , and DC9 the NG have an airstairs airline optionale included (Ryanair) !Best regardsChris

English TranslationChris, the Problem doesn't lie with PMDG. The 747X can be flown with real weather just fine. I am using ASE and have no problems at all. If you are using a registered version of FSUIPC and configure it correctly there shouldn't be any issues. Since the 737NG for FS2004 already had airstairs, probability is 99.9% that it will be likewise with the FSX version. This has already been confirmed by Ryan, if I recall correctly.
