Hey W.,ConnectionXXX, yea that's our callsign now. Back then we still used the N-number. If memory serves me correct the change was made in February this year and makes us sound like the big birds ;-)If you ever hear someone with an emergancy calling with a German accent, that would be me ;-) as this wasn't the only emergency I had.....Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAthlonXP2000,AbitKX7-333(latest4in1),512MB/2700SDRAM,WinXP,DirectX8.1,Geforce3TI200(128MB)(Det.30.82),SBlive(WDM5.1.2601.0)

Geof, thanks for sharing that story, glad everything turned out fine. I think I remember you writing about that problem when you came back from you x-country? Was that the trip that actually was a real across-the-country all the way to the west coast?BTW, if memory serves me well, you still owe me a ride in your Debonair ;-)Glad to hear things are well in Michigan. Let me know if you ever intend on coming to Burke Lakefront, maybe we can have a cup of coffee while I'm in Ohio.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAthlonXP2000,AbitKX7-333(latest4in1),512MB/2700SDRAM,WinXP,DirectX8.1,Geforce3TI200(128MB)(Det.30.82),SBlive(WDM5.1.2601.0)

I just talked to a cfi. The transponder has its own aneriod encoder. It is not tied to the physical altimeter (he said that is a misconception) -therefore the reading atc would be getting from the transponder would be correct.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg
