Emergency NGX! Expansion Pack

  1. Started by petrsurf,

Hi Bryan, just a small question . Will it possible when you set in fs2crew panel to have ground power to have some kind of voice request from FO to ground crew before he switch to ground power on the overhead panel. Every time I watch youtube from real cockpit it is always interesting listening all this request over radio to ground crew . Thanks Petr

Hi guys, I'm enjoying Emergency NGX big time. What a great add-on! However, with FAIL enabled on the FS2Crew main panel, I always get a strange alert after pushback and engine start. My Aussie F/O says "Uh, Master Caution Anti-Ice" four times in a row. The thing is that the Master Caution light does not even light up, and I have selected NOT REQ for anti-ice on the Briefing page. Not a big deal, I just ignore the warning, but anyway, it would be great to know whether I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone else get this alert or knows how to avoid it? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hei, During the cabin altitude or rapid depressurization checklist, both pilots have to don the oxygen masks. Is this actually modeled in either the PMDG 737 itself of FS2Crew? There are actually two pushable buttons on the oxygen mask, but I think they are only for testing purposes. So how does one do that step? Or is it just there for completeness and one assumes to have done it? cheers Rafael

I discovered the following behavior and would like to know if others experience the same and how to deal with it. I was activating a Eng 1 EGT exceedance. After Eng 1 was starting it took some times until the EGT was actually rising, meanwhile the FO was already preparing the Flight Deck for taxing. I announced an EGT exceedance followed by the "Aborted engine start memory items" and the "Engine start lever cutoff" call. After putting the start lever into cutoff, the FO said his "memory items completed". I then called for the "Aborted engine start checklist" and nothing happened. I could see by the green bar that the command was recognized correctly. I did another…

Reading thru the captains responses I see where he should say "check" at certain points. When I say "check" the green line always reads "checked". Is this OK , or do I have to try and train the word "check". Thanks Steve

Hi I am having trouble with set up failures . I have set up per manual failures , but if I start flight and swich to cold and dark it always reset failures into zero . The only way to have failures set in Cdu is to save panel . However I have set 3 failures per 10 hours , but flew 5 hours with no failure at all . Am I missing something please ? Cheers Petr

Hello Bryan, Great addon ! Btw the EEC ALTERNATE MODE seems don't work like expected according the procedure in the manuel. The problem occurs at line 9. I'm supposed to disconnect the Auto Throttle [A], right ? However it's the copilot who performs automatically all the procedure without waiting any response from me ! Question : what is correct, the manuel or the program ? 1. PM MASTER CAUTION - ENGINE 2. PF CHECK 3. PM [A] will extinguish the Master Caution Button 4. PF CONFIRM THE FAILURE or IDENTIFY 5. PM EEC ALTERNATE MODE 6. PF CONFIRMED 7. PF EEC ALTERNATE MODE CHECKLIST 8. PM AUTO-THR…

This one made me laugh - When we were getting the flightdeck ready for a short hop, I decided to test the fire alert system, so I pressed test. My P2 immediately jumped into "looks like we have a fire here!". No we don't old chap! Calm down, it's only a test! The moral of the story? Stick to the flows to avoid upsetting your P2, as he is liable to getting his knickers in a twist and is highly strung!

I can barely hear the co-pilot at the gate and in the air. I do have the volume turned all the way up on the panel for FS2crew. Is there anyway the volume turned up? Thanks.

Hei Bryan, I haven't used the failure system yet, but the manual looks very promising. One problem that occurred to though. I was using FS2Crew with FSPassengers. Thanks to your fix everything seemed to work fine. Some minor hiccups only that didn't caused major problems. After installing Emergency NGX, I altered the panel.cfg once again as described in your FSPassengers Fix. However this time I'm not able anymore to open the FS2Crew panel. The mouse pointer changes accordingly when moving over the click spot but no panel appears. After using the backup panel.cfg once again, the one without the fix, everything seems to work fine. Is the FSPassenger fix wor…

Byork Is the voice actor a real first officer? Does he work for Qantas? Does he fly the A380? Does he post his flights on youtube? If the answer to these question is yes, than tell him to post more flights. Regards

Hi, Today I did my first failure training but, with my great surprise, I realized that in the NGX it's not possible to program an engine fire before or after V1, you can only program it after a certain number of seconds, minutes and hours. Isn't there a way to program the fire before V1 or after V1? Thanks.

My fellow NGX Captains/Crew. If you're browsing through here still undecided about Emergency NGX!.......please read on: When I first purchased the NGX in August 2011, I had read through the manual comprehensively. The fact that failures (and a plethora of them) were modeled was unbelievable. However, I was apprehensive about tackling them due to the fact I'm a "one-man crew". How the hell do I tackle complex (and some simpler) failures without a First officer helping out? And as we know in RW ops, this would not be the case! Ergo, I never bothered with them. Until NOW...... When Bryan announced some time back that he was developing Emergency NGX! and …

Hi Bryan, My first flight with FS2Crew Emergency NGX was with an engine fire after takeoff. Great fun. I tried to follow the manual. However, I noticed that there seems to be parts missing in the manual after PM pulled the Engine Fire Switch? Those parts in QRH that start with: If the engine fire switch or eng overheat light stays illuminated. Cheers, Bert

  20. Hi Brian Just a small Question. After calling the ONE ENGINE INOPERATIVE LANDING CHECKLIST FLAPS 15 the F/O reads the 7.29 from QRH and also regarding switching engine anti-ice off on the de-fective side but i dont se him switch the anti-ice off? might be my job as a CA ? Thanks Michael Moe

Hi Brian , thanks for a very very nice add-on again - I do have a Q about the evacuating thing. I have had 2 flights now with an engine fire 2 and the PM/F/O is taking the FLAPS lever to FLAPS 40 during the evacuation checklist but i can se that the FLAPS stays in FLAPS 15 position . Is this normal ? Thanks again Michael Moe

  23. Hi Bryan, I have been using FS2Crew NGX Voice Edition roughly since the day it was released and have enjoyed it big time. How excited was I when I received your e-mail this morning that Emergency NGX! had been released! So, I went to your Site, purchased, downloaded and installed the software (running the installer as an administrator), activated Emergency and Voice in the Config Manager, and then this: Tried three times, tried again after rebooting the system, and always ended there... At the first FSX start after installing Emergency NGX!, I did receive the dialog to confirm that your gauge should be used, but after that, FSX just doensn't launch and always …

So, I'm the first one here with a new topic.... First, many thanks for this and all the hard work that has gone into it. I have a question, just read through the manual, while having a 'cup of tea'.....Brit thing, I know 'Open the PMDG 737 NGX CDU and select your failure (according to the list of failures featured in the "New Non-Normal Procedures List" in the Product Overview section)' So you have to select what you want to deal with and there is no 'random' failures. I thought you would just be able to 'fly' and maybe you would have a failure that you didn't know about and therefore would have to deal with it as it happens. How I read it …
