Some folks appear to feel the need to state unequivocally, "...I'm not going to buy FSX." "...I'm not upgrading"!OK then. That's cool. Why all the worry though? If you don't buy it, it won't cost you anything, and you can continue with FS 9. OTOH, if you do buy it, ya don't have to remove your FS 9 installation. It will continue to work as long as you want. Therefore, I unequivocally state, "...I'm going to buy FSX." and "...I'll not be upgrading, but instead I'll run both"! (until I get tired of FS 9 and delete it from my HD, something I just did last month with FS 8 AKA FS 2002.Why? Cuz I LOVE flight simulation! Don't you?My humble thoughts,bt

Is there any collaboration between MSFT and MS Research initiatives such as eScience? I'm curious if there's any in-house applied research at MS in scientific computing/atmospheric science on subjects like air dynamics and weather, other than what is done by ACES? I know that eScience is relatively new initiative in MSR, however I don't know all the details other than HPC grid computations, so I'm curious if future MSFT products will somehow benefit from it, maybe in terms of more realistic physics and/or distributed computations? Thanks,=S.V.=

Just stumbled onto this info on another title (Crysis) that will be one of the first to use the new DX10 and the shots look freaking amazing. Granted it's not FS and a different engine, but still impressive nonetheless. I wonder if these shots were done with DX10http://pc.ign.com/objects/694/694190.htmlRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

"First we need to know the positions of the sun and moon. We also need to know the phase of the moon because it reflects more light when full. Believe it or not, Flight Simulator has a mini planetarium program running inside it to compute the positions of the sun, moon and nearly 10,000 stars based upon the date and time set in the game."Different ambient lightning depending of the moon Phase? Is this new to FSX???????
