The Flying Tigers Group has launched a virtual airline representing Air France; the fifteenth virtual airline to join their group. The decision to launch Virtual Air France stems from the lack of any virtual counter-part to one of the largest European carriers. The Flying Tigers Group already operates virtual airlines based on Cathay Pacific Airways, Singapore Airlines & JAL.According to Eric Thornton, owner of the new airline, "Virtual Air France offers a huge route network and of course, the Concorde.

The Board of Directors of Metro Helicopters, a virtual helicopter airline whose pilots fly 100% online using FS2K2 and the VATSIM network, has announced that Michael Carr is the winner of the recent Metro aircraft livery design competition.The winning designs, repaints of the AS365N3 Dauphin (developed by Antti Pankkonen) and the FS2K2 Bell 206B, were submitted by Michael Carr, of FSMC Designs (Texas, USA) early in the competition. SimNASA shall conduct a memorial fly-in for the STS-107 crew on Sunday, February 9, 2002 from 4 PM to 6 PM Eastern Time. The location of the fly-in will be Ellington Field (KEFD), Texas. Of course this event will be open to all NVAS pilots with SimNASA being the sponsoring agency of the event.
