The AirWeGo Group Aircraft Fleet has changed dramatically in the last twelve months.From operating over fourteen different types in early 2002 this has been trimmed to just eight aircraft types. The decision to reduce the Fleet was made after discussion at the Annual General Meeting in 2002 after it was felt the this high number of aircraft did not truly reflect the size of airline the management wanted to operate. May 13, 2003 (McMinniville, OR USA)Evergreen International Virtual Air Cargo has acquired the assets of Purolator and Airborne cargo carriers. Purolator is a now defunct Canadian company which flew the Boeing 727 and Convair 580 as part of their courier service. Airborne Express was the third largest overnight express company in the United States. The fleet of aircraft have been bought and will be put into service in their original liveries. The past weekend proved busy, but successful - due to the resulting crew change at SkyLab.The weekend began with the recovery of SkyLab II. CDR. Brad Hodges, CSM Keith Watt, and SP Drew Hosick splashed down approximately 70 miles from Hawaii on May 3. A SimNASA HH-65 helicopter retreived the returning crew from the floating capsule and delivered them to Hickum Air Force Base. The crew then flew in comfort and style aboard the premier luxury aircraft: SimNASA's Falcon 50, callsign NASA1, enroute to JSC. In the coming months I will start to lay the foundation for a new kind of Virtual Airline. I have chosen to base it on the small New England based airline Cape Air. This airline also services Florida and the Caribbean. One of the main reasons for choosing this airline is because I am also an employee for Cape Air. JetLink Airways will be opening on July 1, 2003. I've got the livery for the aircraft (the Airbus A320) painted, and I just got the flight schedule done. The website structure is also complete, I just need to add the content. This VA will be start out small (17 destinations in continental U.S.) with it's hub at Denver, CO.
