February 23, 201610 yr HelloThis is part #2 of my Turbine Duke transatlantic tripThis time from Nuuk, Greenland (BGGH) to Reykjavík, Iceland (BIRK)About 800 nm of which 400 over the AtlanticThe route : 6:30am, -13 °C (8° F), right after starting the engines, the first thing to do is to switch the Cabin Heat ON Aligning on runway 05, guess what ? We are #1 to take off Leaving Nuuk behind, we are heading East to follow our route to ASVID Somewhere above Greenland, clouds have scattered, letting us stare at the milky way The Moon is almost full and clear of clouds Sun is slowly rising while we are approaching the East Coast of Greenland About 70 nm we are assigned approach RNAV to RWY 01. It is the approach I had considered and pre-selected in the GTN. We are now descending, controlling our rate of descend with the help of the GTN, to reach 3 100 ft at PEXAR (IAF) Arriving at PEXAR at about 200 kts, I put the PT6s on idle to begin the approach around 120 kts Heading North to align on RWY 01, 160 kts, one notch of flaps On Final : full flaps, gear down, we are descending at about 800 ft/mn to the runway. Strong front wind and reverse propellers allow us to turn right, cross RWY 31, to reach our parking just in front of Hangar 01
