January 6, 20251 yr The scan for addon airports took a really long time after updating to 10.0.0. Every second or two, I would see a new airport .xml file appear in my PSXT installation folder and then disappear again. Then I see a bunch of XML files appear in my PSXT installation folder (they are not airports that I have addons for). Those XML files have remained in my installation folder after the airport scan. What am I supposed to do with them (there are 159 of them)?
January 6, 20251 yr Author I just closed and reran PSXT and then selected Scan for addon airports in order to cause it to rescan. The same slow and laborious process of putting an XML file in the PSXT folder for a second or two and then removing it occurred again, making the scan take a very long time - much more than it used to. Is this a result of moving the archive online? Can we have the option to have it installed locally? It was much quicker when the archive would download each time instead of going through this process. It then went through the process of repopulating a bunch of XML files in my PSXT installation folder again.
January 7, 20251 yr You really have to give me more info: Are you on MSFS 2024? And how long dit it take (in minutes)? What is your internet bandwith? PLease post your Log.txt and your \Output\Info\AirportScanLog.txt And what is the contents your my_thirdparty(-2024) folder? There should not be any files put in your Installation folder .. That's strange. An .xml file is generated only if the airport is not found in the archive, otherwise it would set a link in your my_thirdparty folder, and a copy should have been placed in \TBLO for me to learn off line. BTW: The airport scan is only needed if you add an airport, so it a may take a bit longer in the on-line version, but you don't have to run it often. Edited January 7, 20251 yr by kiek
January 8, 20251 yr See release notes v10.1.0 "The meta information about the on-line archives are added to dbase.xml. PSXT uses that info during the airports scan. No on-line queriers needed which speeds up the scan considerably in case you are having a rather slow internet connection."
