November 11, 20241 yr Hi all, now i also have the B707 here and I like it, all the 3d-work and textures are really ok. In terms of flying it's a bit tricky to bring it down the glidesloop, the stallpoint is rather high. So it's best to adjust some throttle (50-60 N1) and go down rather fast, otherwise it will run into calamities. And flaps to 40, not full. Than shut off the AP shortly before touchdown and lift the nose a bit and on the runway reversers, will work. On my model the reverser lights do not work. It always lifts and drops a bit while banking, so it's best to fly into the LOC a bit steep and than wait until the AP has fixed the altitude and than later GS. The 1class cabin is modelled rather well and the economy cabin not, and there is a gap visisble in between, but ok, this is a minor bug. Forgot to make a shot showing it with extended gear in the air but the modelling of the gear is ok as well. Thank you very much for viewing! November 16, 20241 yr Very nice, Andreas. Always glad to see the 707 in the SIM...I recall I'd downloaded all (-1xx to -7xx) variants of the 707 from the HJG website in FSX and was flying them all ... (in addition to, of course, the -300 variant from CS) ... Yes, after some trial and error with throttle input and speed, I thought I got the GS/LOC touchdowns with this one pretty well under control, as I'd shown in a couple of my posts ... Thanks for flying and sharing this classic here in this nostalgic livery...until a better SIM version appears...!
November 17, 20241 yr Author Thank's a lot P_7878, HJG is absolutely great, wonderful liveries and the Eric Cantu B727 with the 2d-panel is really good. For the B707 this version here is available even with the paint from the motion picture "Airport". Also the DC8 at the end in FSX works better than others. But I don't use 2d-panels anymore, that's the problem. To have a good virtual cockpit was a big step forward in the days of FS9 and than FSX.
