PSXT Traffic + RealTraffic + AIG in P3D networked config

Featured Replies

Good morning all,
I hope I'm not taking up too much time with this long thread and I'm not asking questions that have already been asked (if that's the case, I apologize now).
I'm interested in using PSXT/RealTraffic and I have some configuration doubts that I haven't been able to clarify by searching the web.
My current networked configuration is the following: 1 server PC with P3Dv4.5 without AIG and 3 client PCs with P3Dv5.2 used for external viewing, all with AIG, WideView and WideTraffic for traffic synchronization.
The "ToBe" configuration that I would like to create is this: 1 server PC with P3Dv4.5 without AIG, with RealTraffic installed and the 3 client PCs all with AIG, WideView and PSXT Traffic.
The question is this: in P3D the AddOn "AIGAIM AI Traffic" and the scenery library objects "AIGAIM Airports" and "AIGAIM AI Traffic Files" must remain active on all 3 P3Dv5.2 and the only change to make to the simulator configuration on the client PCs is to set the Airline Traffic density and General aviation traffic density to 0%?
Thanks in advance for those who want to answer.

All the best,

Alessandro

Thanks Nico.

The manual is clear, but by question (may be not so clear) was about AIG stuff and it's interactions with PSTXTraffic/RealTraffic

So, this "ToBe" configuration should works and meet PSTX_Traffic requisites?

  • 1 server PC with P3Dv4.5, no AIG addons (models+liveries) installed/running and with RealTraffic installed;
  • 3 client PCs all with AIG addons (models+liveries) installed and running, WideView and PSXT Traffic.

Thanks in advance,

Alessandro

It is too long ago I used Wideview, so maybe this works. However, in 2.3 I say that you have to run PSXTraffic at all PC's, and then you need AIG models+livereis at the server too ... (note it is PSXTraffic not PSXT_Traffic).

Ok, this is a definitive answer 😀

So AIG must be installed also on the server PC; for the correct functioning of the TCAS system do I need a complete installation like for the Client PCs or is it sufficient to install only one AI aircraft model for each category LIGHT, SMALL, LARGE and HEAVY?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer me.
Best regards,
Alessandro

If you need the TCAS at the server and no outside views and you don't want to install the complete AIG package, you must install as many models as you need to prevent that no match with a real aircraft can be made (with matching depth at max 4), while at the clients the match can be made. So in theory each model in a category, for instance for Large with these models

A19N,A20N,A21N,A318,A319,A320,A321,AJ27,AT43,AT44,AT45,AT46,AT72,AT73,AT75,AT76,B190,B37M,B38M,B39M, B712,B732,B733,B734,B735,B736,B737,B738,B739,BCS1,BCS3,CRJ1,CRJ7,CRJ9,CRJX,D328,DC91,DC93,DH8A,DH8B, DH8C,DH8D,E120,E170,E190,E195,E290,E295,E35L,E75L,E75S,F100,F50,F70,F900,FA50,FA7X,FA8X,J328,JS41,MD81,MD82,MD83,MD88,SB20,SF34,SH33,SH36,SU95 you need at least 1 livery

With the similar model definitions of PSXT you may skip a number of them, but to do this for each category is a lot more work then just installing the complete package, I'd say....

I agree with you.

I think the best way to achieve the target is to do a full install of AIG on all 4 PC (may be it's necessary to do only once and then copy OCI folder on others pc) and test all. Later I can get rid of the surplus stuff.

Thanks a lot for your patience, I'll update you.
