August 18, 20241 yr Hi all Looking at making the move from fsx se to msfs2024 when it comes out and would like to know if the current version is user friendly for home cockpits builders I would like to put steam gauges on a second monitor but heard msfs2020 has very limited options that doesn't allow for 2d panels Cheers Rhys
August 18, 20241 yr 2020 has the ability, at least on the aircraft I fly to pop out 2D models of the PFD, NFD, etc. Using right Alt + mouse click. I use MSFS Popout Panel Manager to do the same thing. You can fix size and positions where the panels pop out. I don't have a second monitor, but it very well may work with that also. You can find the app on flightsim.to and read the docs. Edited August 18, 20241 yr by airernie

August 18, 20241 yr Another possible solution is a second monitor which is a touch screen. And then use air manager. Touch screens are almost always small because they need to be near you, a 15" is the most common. The resolution only needs to be 720p because that is still a very high number of pixels per square inch (because the square inches of a small monitor is small). I use a name brand monitor (Asus), I don't trust generic brands. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09JFGJD78/ There are other youtube videos if this isn't exactly what you need. The screen does work with knobster by the way, but a knobster is not necessary. Knobster is expensive, about $100. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
August 18, 20241 yr I used Velcro to mount the knobster securely on one of my flight controllers. Air manager panels does not use gauges popped out from the main screen. It creates whole new panels with whatever you want on them. There are over 1000 gauges to choose from, most made by individuals and are now included with air manager, more added all the time by users. It looks the feature may be electronic panel only. Your option may very well be Air Manager unless someone else has another suggestion.
