Confused about connecting to jetways

Featured Replies

Really happy user here ,so thanks for a great traffic tool- all appears to be working fine with one exception and I am a bit confused why AI traffic (I have the paid real traffic license) is not connecting to athe jetways at any of my airports, is this normal? cheers

If you are talking about jetways connecting to traffic injected by PSXT jetways do NOT connect to those AI aircraft. MSFS is "unaware" of PSXT injected aircraft so MSFS doesn't know there is any aircraft at the gate to which to connect a jetway.

Correct, as @somiller has mentioned. This is a limitation of the MSFS SDK unfortunately. More details here:

As other have said, it's a limitation of the way that PSXT handles and injects traffic. It does not inject typical AI models which then get controlled by the sim. Instead, it calculates each model's position multiple times a second and injects the model and its movements. Consequently, the sim doesn't have any interaction with the models as traffic and therefore doesn't know to connect the gate.

Finally, this also allows the planes to park where they do so in real life (in airports that have good ground movement coverage) and so the planes will sometimes park in places that look a little off, depending on the scenery that is being used and whether it matches the current real life layout or not. The advantage is that there is no dependence on the scenery developer having accurate gate assignments in their scenery files.
