Sim Time Selection not staying

Featured Replies

Hi Nico,

Over the last few versions (I can't remember when, but I recall someone else writing about it) my Sim Time check box refuses to stay selected between closings and openings of the app.

If I manually change the parameters file before opening, I get the box checked. But then when I close it, the parameter gets reset and I don't get the box checked the next time I open it.

Yes, that's my new design The same was already true for if you added numbers in days, hours and minutes.

It assumes that simming in time shift is the exception....

I'm curious why you made the change? Part of your refactoring effort?

It doesn't seem like it would really change the code, as the option is still there.

Also, do you find that most people run PSXT out of sync with the time in the simulator?

I always want PSXT in sync with my sim time and had left the box checked by default. Now I often find myself having forgotten to check it. Will just add that step to my mental checklist.

Yes, I also noticed that I want this option back. Very inconvenient.

Pretty please.

PS. Also, I'd like to have the option to have MaxFit set to 0 by default, not 335. 100% of airports I'm flying in and out have very good RT coverage and I don't need PSXT to search items within a week, especially in large airports, such as EGLL and KORD, where I have max parking value set to 50-65%.

No, ofcourse not. I suddenly found that the treatment of the SIm variable was diffrent from the treatment of the other time shift variables (day, hour, minutes). That's why/

Don't know, but al least I do. I always run MSFS in real time, so there is no need for a time shift.

Yes but that does not hold for all users, I guess.  If I set default to 0, lots of users may start complaining that they do not see many aircraft (one does not read the Manual you know...). It seems better to me that advanced users like you set the MaxFit once for each airport they visit. Cannot be such a big job, if you only fly to airports with very good coverage 😉

Lucky you. Some of us, Gen-exers should go to work sometime and real time fly-time for us is either late evening in the US, or night in the EU Zone. Hence, I have no choice but to fly in the historical mode.

PS. That tells me that I should finally buy and try new ActiveSky 🙂

I have had all that, almost 45 years. 😉

I will add a hidden parameter with which to set keep SIM variable value between sessions or not, default not.
