Is my new 4090 defective, or its FG routine? Over Europe....

Featured Replies

I hope it isn't but I'm a bit puzzled by this.  Yesterday, twice w/ a reboot in between, took off from EHAM to EDDM in the FBW320nx.  All was well on the ground and after TO up to cruise or so, then severe spikes in CPU load started to happen, and kept happening, such that I had to abort the flight.  Of note, I'm only running at 30FPS x 2 w/ FG, to 60FPS.  So on the ground and until this aberration ensued, main thread was easily coping, and CPU temp was at around 48-50C, which corroborates its low workload.  I quit and chalked this up to server-side issues.

Well, today, same same.  But, this time I just put up with it until descent started, with this which caused frame rate to vacillate between its solid 60fps, and dips down to 20 or worse, with severe pauses.  During descent I decided to turn FG off, and put the rate at 35FPS which my hardware easily handles.  Well, that was the end of these severe disruptions.  Of note, I had several good flights with FG on prior to this recent foray.

Thanks for your inputs.  It would help if anyone else is having this issue over Europe right now!!!!!!!!!
