January 18, 20242 yr Just wondering has anyone tried this headset with FS. It looks like the HP Reverb may have a limited life seeing Microsoft may not continue Windows Mixed Reality at least in the form we know it today. https://www.roadtovr.com/bigscreen-beyond-review-pc-vr-headset/ FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
January 18, 20242 yr It just bothers me that it uses SteamVR base stations. Inside-out tracking is the norm these days, and buying two base stations to have full 360 tracking adds another $500 on top. Perhaps the headset is too small to fit tracking cameras. Another thing is the fact you seem to need an iPhone to make the scan for the custom cushion. So anyone who doesn't have one won't get a cushion. Lately, there are many headsets that have something really good going for them but something holds them back, keeping them from actually being that next-gen headset. There's always a catch. January 18, 20242 yr I've had one on order for months but it hasn't arrived yet. Upgrading from a Valve Index helps since I already have base stations. I expect it to have some glare from the reviews I've seen. I had a Pimax Crystal but the inside-out tracking was not without issue and while the display was outstanding it was very uncomfortable. Hoping the Beyond lands somewhere in between my Index and the Crystal. From what I've heard the scan makes a big difference since the Beyond is perfectly fitted to your face; hope that is the case since the Crystal was awful for me.
January 18, 20242 yr Definitely a step in the right direction. Switch to inside out tracking and generic facial interface with adjustable IPD and I would be all over it.
